Also in reference to the above posts. Can we please simmer down a little, if there needs to be some fire in the conversation have that towards the water torture in city traffic of the ADAS system and not at each other.

Just a suggestion.

I didn't post anything here. You're either factually mistaken in which case you should correct your post or you are attacking me personally which is a violation of forum rules.
Okay. Here is my correction.

“Lynn Calder published her contact information to LinkedIn.
Someone not Lynn Calder published her contact information here.”

I imagine that since we are now playing games with semantics, you have seen the light and agree that it is not correct to publish another person’s contact information without their consent.

Yes, you can search for a person’s contact information. No, you should not publish it - “without their consent”.

Assuming we are talking about post #757, no personal information was posted or "published" here. A link to a public social media account is not doxxing.

Ok, let’s keep things in perspective. Type in Lynn Calder into google and the first hit is her linkedin profile from over 1 billion linkedin accounts (apparently), so we are hardly outing someone. If it were a personal instagram account or my space or some such then I think that is slightly different but as she is the public head of an Automotive company and this is a professional social media account it’s probably ok. If not then I’ll be sure to have an email by 8:15 uk time Monday in my inbox.

As mentioned elsewhere on this site and in the guidelines. Please keep people’s personal address, email and telephone details off the site unless you have the ok from that individual.

Thanks.

Stu.
When I type “Lynn Calder” in to a search engine, her contact information is viewed by one person.
When I publish Lynn Calder’s contact information on to a user forum, it is viewed by thousands, perhaps millions, of people.

Granted, doxxing implies there is, typically, a malicious intent. But, as a busy executive, if someone publishes my information in order to persuade people whom I do not know to contact me about an issue that is not in my direct purview, filling my inbox or my voicemail is upsetting.

The definition of malicious is “intended to upset other people”.

I’ll leave you to do the math.

“A link to a social media account is not doxxing”
From Wikipedia. “Historically, the term has been used to refer to both the aggregation of this information from public databases and social media websites”

The poster pulled her information from a social media website and published it here. It’s the textbook definition of doxxing.

I truly can’t help you understand the term in any more clear language.

Post #757 did not aggregate it or even copy and paste in any information. It's literally a <a href> hyperlink that the forum inserted a preview for.

Holy shit guys.

I picked up my Grenadier about two months ago. I was immediately irritated by the speed warnings. It always thinks I am in a school zone, and if I drive "posted speeds" on the highways in Texas I'll get hammered.

I checked this forum when it had about six pages of responses and it taught me to favorite the ADAS screen. That was awesome.

I love my truck. The most annoying thing about having a Grenadier these days is the amount of questions and tours I have to do for onlookers. And, I tell them the most problematic thing is the warnings the reset every time I start her.

I wish Ineos would update the software to remember my settings. I have spoken to my rep about it (along with the question of where's my service manual), and haven't had a great response.

But, I still love this truck.

Checking back in today to see if there were any updates. 40+ pages of posts, and it's mostly about doxxing and anger and definitions?

This is unfortunate. I think I'll tap out for now.

Yeah that thread got way outta control. Truck is the bomb, minus the damn chirping. I think we all have one thing in common here, we want INEOS to be wildly successful.

I would also offer that Lynn Calder chose to publish her contact infirmation to a social media site that requires the use of real names, requires some authenticating and, in many cases, requires payment to use.

A third party chose to publish her contact information, without consent, on a forum that is 99.9% anonymous.

And, because we are likely of a certain age, we probably assume doxxing “contact information” to mean revealing a phone number or email. It’s not. Doxxing is almost always a link to a person’s social media. That’s doxxing 101.

The offending post says something along the lines of “I wish I had her direct line”. In this context, the poster wants to pester MS Calder about a clicky noise…

What is about a government requirement in the EU and a government request in the US makes this a communication issue? Why does Ineos owe an explanation. It’s self explanatory.

Over speed warning is a user defeatable feature that the government requested be included. As a new import, would you advise Ineos to deny the request from the highway safety agency? Would that be apologist? The government requested, “…at a minimum, warns the driver when it is speeding.”

How is that hard to interpret?
Ineos doesn’t owe you a reply when the answer is “the government told us to do it”.
You completely misunderstand everything....

Gotta say, I don't think I've seen this many old white men complaining since was discussion about Viagra no longer being covered by Medicare.
"The clicker is too loud"
"I can't shut off <feature> using one button"
"I have to constantly correct steering"
"I don't want a Nanny"
I agree WTF.

So I own a Grenadier and love it. I fear it will be a douche mobile with the amount of complaining about simpile stuff that you can shut of at start up. It takes a couple extra seconds. Enooooough already. 🤪

I'm a bit surprised that I didn't find that speed warning super annoying.
Except on one segment of a local highway where it keeps on insisting that the speed limit is 35 when it really is 65.

Ok, back to ADAS content--

I was driving around in some very heavy rain yesterday and I had forgotten to turn off the auto start/stop and the ADAS (couldn't hear warnings over the rain anyway). I did end up re-disabling the auto start stop when I pushed the pedal and didn't "go" at the right time. As far as ADAS is concerned, it did flash up some warning lights that then went off a little later-- presumably due to not being able to "see" through the rain.

With regard to LDW (lane departure warning), there are several merge zones near my place that trigger LDW every time when driving the normal and expected fashion through them.

100% agree. The few ladies who got Grenadines probably aren't complaining because they can multi task. 5 seconds to turn it off while starting to drive isn't exactly rocket science to figure out guys.

Calm down or sell yours to someone who can figure it out.
