Thanks @bradb622! Good to know on the trail performance and looks are an important factor, no doubt. I believe the 17” alloys are the same offset as the steelies at +55mm. Might be the difference of 17x8” (alloy) vs 17x7.5” (steel). So should approximately come out in the wash on “installed”...

I’m late on responding, but just to be clear the 70 and 75 in those measurements (I.e. 285/75/17) are percentages, not mm’s. The side wall height would be 285 x 75% = 213.75 mm. Also I don’t know of a 315/75/17 tire, the common size is a 315/70/17.

    BFG take off interest?

Hi Krabby, I like your idea of after market rims and new tire size choice. Please provide pictures when once you have them mounted on your soon to arrive Trial Master. I would also like to get your input and impressions on how they perform off road and on road and especially how the noise level...

    BFG take off interest?

...there. Right now I’m leaning towards Method wheels, maybe the 706. Not sure though. Without doing any price shopping and just hitting TireRack 5 method 706s, BFG 285/75/17 Km3, 5 new TMPS, mounted, balanced, and shipped for $3,300. Naturally I’ll shop around but that gives me a ballpark price.

    Bigger tyres > 255/85r17

Ko3 would be a no brainer (so would the ko2) if it was available in the 285/75. Be interesting in when they release that to world

    Bigger tyres > 255/85r17

...in that size here. 255/80s are basically a 33. Will be no problem fitting them like the 285/70s that I have seen others run, as for the 285/75 has also been used I have tried a 295/70 (trying to get at least 34" tall) and it works with out a problem. Even on the back door. But Ibwould prefer...

    Bigger tyres > 255/85r17

...as well. They are just a hair taller than the traditional 285/70/17s, but, as I'm sure is true with the 255/85/17(in comparison with a 285/75/17 or 305/70/17), they will fit with much less work due to their narrower tread width. They are also available in ATs (Falken Wildpeak A/T3W's are my...

I recall him mentioning the lift was only 30mm, with the other 30mm coming from the larger tyres.

Black sheep did 285/75/17 with a 60mm Eibach lift (only shocks and springs) and no further modifications. They developed an adaptor for the spare wheel to clear the rear small door. I’ve got a video on my YouTube detailing what they did. https://youtube.com/@KenyanGrenadier Subscribe, share...

likewise. MT on pre-order 285/70/17. I can't see the 285/75 option in BFG km3. was thinking about the 33/12.5/17

He said they were 285/75. If 17 inch wheels those would be closer to 34/35 inch tires.

    Accessory feedback from current owners

aye that was what I was referring to. if his "285/75..." comment was correct then depending on rim size they are closer to 34's or 35's than 33's, if that makes sense.
