I am always being told that the Grenadier is GIANT and it turns out it just looks big. I just discovered this website and absolutely love it!

I am surprised at how many "acceptable" cars are both longer and wider than the Grenadier but people just don't realize it..

The height and cargo capacity is the main difference.
The BMW, like most modern SUV's, comes in dramatically at the glasshouse area.
You also sit much much higher in the Grenadier, unless you put the seat in a boy racer position.

It’s not the length, it’s the girth that makes it giant. 😉
It's not that bad. I saw one of those lardaceous Silverados in Tasmania yesterday.
Uglier than a fat boar wearing lipstick. People were staring and pointing.

It’s narrower and shorter than a Honda Pilot, so just a mid-size - although significantly taller. The fact that it is so tall, and every angle is just vertical, makes it seem much bigger than it really is. That also provides great head and shoulder room and great cargo capacity, given the relatively small footprint. Only people in Europe and the UK think it’s huge. The seating position is also really high, so it feels big from the driving position as well. That being said - today in the parking lot, a mom was walking behind my Grenadier with her toddler son - he did the “I’m having a man-stroke” slack jawed stare and just stood behind it, paralyzed - she said “he loves the huge truck.” I let him climb the ladder, then opened the back and we put together an Orvis fly rod. Had a hard time getting him to give it back. So yeah, it makes an impression - at 3 or at 83. Doesn’t matter. Same guy reaction, which is the final word on the nature vs nurture debate.
