I’ve been driving mine for months now and never knew the brake thing. Gonna test it out tomorrow. But in all honesty, I’m just like most on here, it’s simple & quick to just push one button each time you drive.

I assume it either switches a relay or just sends a signal to the processor.
I use the finger on my left hand each time I start the car. Occasionally I forget until the first restart.

Yes it was! I must’ve hit it inadvertently. It really freaked me out because something had obviously changed but had no idea what.Well was it the start/stop function? You said you bet that was it so assumed you didn’t check yet. I also agree with others that’s probably the issue, but you never know……..

Euro govts are obsessed with emissions targets. Every gram counts, and when you add up all the cities and towns and the millions of vehicles sitting at traffic lights and in traffic jams for hours , it adds up.
Not enough oil settles during a stop for the "start" wear to occur on a motor, The zinc is coating the surfaces, and the 0w mitigates even more when the engine oil isn't quite up to temp yet. As to how much is saved, one needs to consider the total number of cars running the planet, and where the driver is located. This system just needs a tad more sitting time to activate so it's not such an intrusive nuisance in a traffic jam.
I think I'd rather have the feature off by default, then turn it on when I want it. By the way, putting the car into manual shift mode automatically disables the feature.. this is my current preferred solution.
I sometimes shift into neutral... if you shift into neutral as you brake for the light, then you can coast up to the light for a smoother stop, take your foot off the brake, etc. Engine stays on. Shift back into forward or manual before, or when, it turns green. Almost all my previous vehicles have been manual and I don't like fighting the vehicle to get it to stop, just feels weird. Still wish they'd make a manual, but making do
True, but you need also to get out, open the rear door and close it with a big slam. I don’t remember exactly where in the process, but I am sure people will find that out.
