I added the original brodit magsafe charger today, but I think the magnet isn‘t strong enough. ais the original Appel Magsafe charger better?
I haven't gotten the Brodit/proclip round one so I'm not sure. I did get this one but decided to use a RAM arm for better positioning instead.

I like the universal attachment strip posted in some earlier photos.
Should I ever get contacted by my assigned dealer, and take delivery, I will explore mounting the strip over the high gloss trim strip above the heating dials, but below the dash vents.
it may be possible to bring USB power out through the back, and mount my drive pad and phone holder to the strip in a place where the passenger can navigate or I can answer the phone.

My drive track is a 7 inch screen, which should fit there nicely without fully obstructing the vents.

Any thoughts?

Just spitballing here.

I put my mount (Quadlock) here and whilst it's not the best spot for visibility that's OK by me 0 main objective was to have the phone charging and away from the dash to prevent overheating.

The new mount arrived today. Now I'll have both. Probably won't use the vent mount though. They corrected the part numbers on the new batch.

I just got my shipment in and they sent the wrong part. Will email them and see if they can get the correct mount, not vent mount. Unfortunately they don’t show the panel mount anymore on the website.

If you ordered through proclip they'll make it right. They were pretty quick with me, shipping the correct part within 3 days of me reaching out.

My CarPlay is non-functional, so until I can get the dealer fix, I picked up this MagSafe mount. It does not have a charger function but it is easy enough to plug the phone directly.

Note: was $15US when purchased.

Do you have a case on your phone? I have an otterbox defender and I don't know if there's enough pull for magnets to work.

Yes, I have a Speck MagSafe case. The mount has a strong magnet, and even comes with a stick-on magnet ring for non-MagSafe cases.

My only concern with the Mag safe mount ( I do have one in mine) is that if you go over serious bumps the phone falls off the mount.

I fitted the Brodit/Proclip on the car today. The holes to do not line with the Grenadier centre console (I was mounting UHF/CB handsets x 2). I had to make the holes a little bigger on the top side of the top hole and on the bottom side of the bottom hole. That gave enough movement to line the screw holes up. I carefully used a drill bit to shave off the plastic.

This bracket.

This is what I did and works amazing.. Very cheap and solid as a brick. Split washers so it doesn't go loose under vibration and never ever moved...

Looks good, did you order directly with Fanaue or through a distributor in Europe?

Wondering when we’ll get some reviews on this… looks very promising.

Personally I wouldn't mount anything in front of the air vents
They struggle a bit as is.
