It seem only a month ago large portion of ppl in the US were losing their Sh#t over paying over MSRP. I think we all can take a step back and appericate that things may not be perfect but we are moving in right direction.
I want to see apologies from people who were gas lighting. Some people actually canceled their orders believing that non sense.

Spoke with Triad (NC) today, he advised January delivery for my vehicle and nothing in regards to contract signing; only that he'd be in touch when the demos arrive to set up a time to come and drive one
The dealer just emailed me that my truck would be in April or May. I definitely feel discouraged. Not sure how much longer my patience will last with this Sh** show.

It's just a truck. Life is short. If it is causing you this much angst you should probably move onto to something else.

I think they were playing the long game, getting people to drop out so they move up in the line 🤣

Does your concern include dealers charging you for assembling your vehicle? It seems weird to me, that putting your vehicle together isn’t part of the original order cost.
Maybe I missed it in the fine print on the configurator. But I actually thought that if I clicked on a whole bunch of parts that they would be put on the vehicle for the invoice price. Didn’t think I have to pay extra to have them put the pieces on the vehicle. Who would’ve thought that a trial master had an extra charge for installing the snorkel?

Or is charging you for attaching accessory items, a misunderstanding?

The NA configurator states (and has always stated) that accessory installation is not included in MSRP and cost must be negotiated with dealers.

For factory options, there sure are many folks crying wolf at the moment. If you have spoken with a dealer or IA and been told that there will be an additional charge to fit your RAI by the dealer, by all means share it. Otherwise, I suggest folks sit tight, connect with their dealers, wait for more information, and ignore the fearmongering.

Don’t feel bad, I am actually working with my dealer to push my order back, thus creating a spot for guys like you to fill. Don’t be dejected, work with your dealer, they WANT YOU IN THE CAR and are certainly going to work with you.

Not charging for installing the accessories in Australia.

My understanding is that things that had an asterisk * next to them in the order configurer were accessories and (potentially) subject to dealer charges for the labor required to install them. Therefore, in my eyes, if one ordered checker plates or a roof rack, for example, they would be charged by their dealer. However, the snorkel is a factory spec item on the Trialmaster trim and as such - even if the dealer ultimately has to install the part for whatever reason - that charge should be between the dealer and IA.

The only accessory that I ordered are the rubber floor mats and if they won't toss them in the footwell for free I'm sure I can manage on my own.

Not sure if that's just this dealer's plans or if they all are considering it. Is the primary cost associated with a true destination fee based on getting it from customs/port to the dealer or is it meant to also cover ship and container? If Ineos is covering the cost to ship to port destination, maybe the short distance from Brunswick to Atlanta is more easily absorbed but Brunswick to a further away dealer isn't and thus another dealer might feel they have to charge something. As the rest of everyone here talks with their dealers in the coming days, it should become more clear.
Destination fee is supposed to average out all the costs to send to dealers nationwide so that someone in California pays the same as someone next to the factory in Detroit. Obviously the way the economy is lopsided it doesn't work out this way, but at least the dealers pay the same amount!

$1600 isn't bad for a destination fee for a big truck.

Just to show that a dealer can be up-front with their clients, my dealership (Crown in St Pete, FL) GM put out this long email explaining their process. Some really interesting news here! Read carefully!!!
<<
Our fellow Ineos Grenadier peeps,
We know some of you did not get a chance to join us on one of our Q&A webinars, so we wanted to send an email with a recap and some updates.
First off, let me start by saying that we cannot be more excited to be part of this adventure with you. We begged and pleaded to be one of the 20 dealerships granted this amazing opportunity because we love what the Ineos Grenadier represents, and we plan on making this an awesome experience for all of you while at the same time making some amazing memories with you!
If you did join us for one of the webinars, I’m sure you noticed how funny we are (yes we know!) and most importantly how transparent and open we are trying to be with everyone, providing updates and answers to your questions. So, to get right down to it, here is our recap.
  • MSRP / PRICING:
    • Crown Ineos will be selling all pre-orders at MSRP.
    • As stated on the Ineos website, the MSRP DOES NOT INCLUDE the $1,600 destination fee. This will be added to the moroney sticker once the vehicle has been invoiced.
    • Crown Ineos has a documentation fee of $999. All other additional fees are your standard tax, registration, and titling fees
    • Accessories that you placed on your pre-order will not be shown on the moroney sticker when the vehicle is invoiced. The accessories will be re-added through a parts repair order.
    • As stated on the Ineos website, the installation of accessories is NOT INCLUDED in the MSRP of the vehicle. However, we have decided at Crown Ineos that for everyone on this email list, we will INCLUDE the installation of your accessories that were on your original configuration as a gift from us to you!
  • DEMO / TEST DRIVES:
    • As of today, 10/03/24, we verified with the Ineos corp team that a service campaign is being performed for all demos this week. Crown Ineos should receive a Trialmaster and a Fieldmaster in the next two weeks.
    • Once we have confirmation that the two demos are coming to us, we will share our test drive appointment/event calendar with all of you.
    • We will be doing a ride and drive, where you will get to drive one of the demo Grenadiers on the street and highway in Orlando, Jacksonville, and Naples area.
    • We will also share the events where both demos will be throughout Florida in the upcoming months.
  • CONFIGURATIONS / MODIFICATIONS:
    • After receiving access to the Ineos Partner Portal, we have attempted to contact all of our 274 pre-order clients to confirm your configurations. Our goal is to confirm these configurations as soon as possible.
    • Anyone that has a vin #, we have emailed it to you with your configuration. If, for some reason, you did not get this email, please text me at 727-452-7070, and we will jump right on it.
    • Once we receive your confirmation that your configuration is correct, we will send you a docusign to initial next to the options you chose. Please keep in mind the docusign is not a contractual agreement.
    • If you paid a deposit to Ineos for your pre-order, you should receive a refund from Ineos by December. We have decided not to request another deposit as you have been patiently waiting.
    • Please understand that modifications cannot be made after 3 weeks from the initial order. Accessories can be added or removed after the fact. This is due to the insane amount of planning and logistics it takes from a manufacturing and assembly line standpoint.
    • Trailer hitch – Many of you have told us that the Class III Tow Hitch and electronics option is missing from the dealer build configuration we sent you. We have reached out to our Ineos rep and were told this is a system issue where the dealer build does not display the hitch; however, the factory build sheet still has it included. If, for some reason, your vehicle arrives without it, we will have the factory parts to install it here at our dealership.
  • FINANCE / INSURANCE:
    • The captive bank for Ineos Financial is Santander.
    • Rates and Residuals for leasing will be available closer to when the first deliveries arrive.
    • Insurance quotes seem readily available. Crown has an in-house insurance company to assist with any quotes upon request.
  • WARRANTY / SERVICE / ROADSIDE:
    • Mechanical: 5 years/60,000 miles (whichever comes first), Paintwork: 3 years/60,000 miles (whichever comes first), Anti-Perforation: 12 years, Accessories purchased after the original purchase of your Grenadier: 3 years, Parts purchased after the orginal purchase of your Grenadier: 2 years.
    • Maintenance: 12 months/12,000 miles (6,000 miles in heavy use case).
      • The first service requires Axel Oil to be changed.
      • The Air Filter is required to be changed every 24,000 miles.
      • Spark plugs are required to be changed every 36,000 miles.
      • The transfer box oil is required to be changed every 60,000 miles.
    • Premium Gas is recommended
    • Roadside Service will be available, and we will update you with the details as soon as we get them.
    • Crown Ineos is working with a third-party company called Red Cap to offer pick-up and delivery options for clients. We will have more updates on this soon.
  • TRADES/PRE-TRADES:
    • Yes, we will be more than happy to offer you a live buy bid for your trade-in
    • If you want to pre-trade a vehicle now, we can give you a buy bid and save the tax credit against your Grenadier when it arrives.
  • DELIVERIES:
    • Late December or early January, we should start seeing Grenadiers arrive in the U.S.
    • We will offer at-home deliveries throughout the Country, with shipping quotes available upon request.
    • Again, as a token of our appreciation to all of you that have pre-ordered an Ineos Grenadier and are on this email, we will be covering the cost of installation for your accessories represented on your configuration!
We plan to make you all part of our community with long-lasting adventures once you pick up your Ineos Grenadier from Crown. We have plans to overland as a group in the Ocala National Forest, the Everglades, and try out your rig at Hardrock Offroad Park in Ocala. And this is just the beginning!

We look forward to meeting all of you in person soon,

Your Crown Ineos Team,
Michal Niezbecki – General Manager – call/text 727-452-7070

Calling a spade a spade here: That doc fee of $1k is padded profit. It may not be labelled "markup" but it most certainly is by another name. One of the many games we play with dealers here in the US that cause customers to dislike the whole industry.

The accessory installation included is a nice perk that gets early adopters probably to break even, but that won't apply to everyone.

Say it louder for the people in the back.... I would love to get a breakdown of what documentation is costing the dealer $999 to complete; even more so if they are a dealership that has switched to all electronic signature tablet/screens in-house and DocuSign for remote signings.

For other vehicles I've purchased, I've paid between nothing and $399; at least for the one that charged me $399 I got 3 UPS Next Day AM labels (documents to me to sign, documents back to them signed, and final paperwork back to me so I could get tags from my state to go fly and pick up the vehicle).

From the Google reviews I've read, the dealership associated with my selected dealer (Bentley of High Point, now with Triad Ineos) has a $999 doc fee that I'm hoping is shifted to something less stratospherically inflated for the Ineos brand

It's so bad, that each state has to make a maximum law for doc fees dealers can charge. It's such BS.

FL has no law capping the doc fee.

It's a free market, which I fully support, but games and misrepresentation I just don't agree with. Making customers think it is a required expense is disingenuous.

Wow, first time I have seen something favorable towards a car purchase in WA state, Doc fee capped at $200 negotiable. However, we get a good ole 0.3% use tax in addition to our local tax on a vehicle purchase.

Florida is the wild west as far as car dealerships are concerned. It's good that the Miami dealership group is Holman, they have a fairly professional demeanor from my interactions with them as an OEM representative.
