Would a fairing work to streamline it and diminish the sound, such as a Rhino Rack fairing that fits?:I travelled 180 miles today in my diesel Trialmaster with 800 miles on the clock as I set off.
The first 90 miles with no roof-rack
The return 90 with the factory roof-rack fitted.
90% highway driving @ 70 mph
According to the onboard metrics it managed 23.3 mpg (uk) without the roof-rack, dropping to 20.7 mpg (uk) with the roof-rack fitted. Plus a LOT more wind noise.
We need some close up photos of the gutter clamps and other fixings please.I travelled 180 miles today in my diesel Trialmaster with 800 miles on the clock as I set off.

So is there a captive nut on the outside face of the leg?
Is that the type of edge protector that contains metal hoops?
