So the Don Carlos has left Melbourne without depositing any Grenadiers locally - so anyone willing to guess the next candidate ship will be the first to bring Grenadiers to Australia?

Remember - on 24 February, Justin Hocevar specifically said......."a ship is about to depart Zeebrugge for Australia with the first batch of 92 Grenadiers".

Tonsberg departed 2 March, due Melbourne 26 April.

Oberon departed 9 March, due Melbourne 9 May.

A 50mm2 cable requires a decent crimp

While Justin H signalled the departure from Zebrugge, I don't recall any quotes attributed to him, actually stipulating Melbourne as the port of entry. Both the Tonsberg and the Toronto were due to exit Zeebrugge on 2nd and 3rd of March respectively . They will also dock at Pt Kembla and Brisbane...both these ports, (along with Newcastle), were cited by un-named Ineos folk as possible alternatives for offloading relatively small numbers (Grenadiers) with faster processing than Melbourne due to the biosecurity blockages there.

I have heard that a ship is expected today/tomorrow in Port Kembla which has Grenadiers on board for delivery. The Don Carlos is currently around Mallacoota according to same source. Are we sure no Grenadiers were off loaded in Melbourne. According to source, NSW bound Grenadiers will be shipped to Port Kembla.

Reason for doing an adaption is i am nervous of pulling the lead (in the rare time i forgot to hitch properly and drop the trailer) and pulling cables out of a fixed Nato that is screwed in.
The Anderson will just pull out in that event.
I am also working on the fact the Nato is already fused but need to check (hopefully this week / early next when i get my car) the rating.

Photo of lead made up.
I used 50mm2 marine flex cable and soldiered the connections.
The Nato will take 50mm2 cable perfectly but you need to make sure you specify the right inserts for the Anderson.
If you want to use smaller cable such as 35mm then you will need to either alter the size of the inserts, or you can get sleeves that suite.

It looks well made. Great job.

FYI, the lugs used in 50 amp Anderson plug have three different internal sizes, being 6AWG, 8AWG or 10-12AWG.

My contract turned up today.

At initial glance the vehicle‘s specifications looks as per what I requested, which I’m rather happy about considering all the contract issues identified by others here. I also checked the Portal and it shows the contract as being issued. Agent - Purnell (Sydney)

Contract arrived and signed. I made some changes to colour and options a couple of months ago and they are correctly reflected on the contract. All good just need to get the delivery date.

Excellent position to be in. Can't wait. Some after market stuff starting to turn up as well. Just need to sort insurance before delivery. Has anyone in OZ looked into insurance?

I should add that I ordered on 21 May 2022.

Try Club 4X4. They paid out on my total loss claim recently. Very good off road coverage.

Club 4X4 probably know about the INEOS, but there will probably be a few extra hurdles for a brand new make.

Thanks for helping us who will come later!

I will be using them again. My accident was the other person's fault so I keep my no claim bonus - thanks to the dashcam footage. That footage also helped with the Police investigation into the fatality. So I will be fitting front and rear dashcams to the IG.

My contract turned up last night. Initial reservation 15th October 21, ordered 20th May 22. All looks good except the stamp duty, which has been incorrectly calculated. by about $2200 above what it should be. According to my agent this will be rectified in the final invoice. Apart from that all looks good. Wasn't too happy to find out that stamp duty is paid on the full purchase price including GST. So paying a tax on a tax, which is just wrong imo.

Anyway, will give it another read this evening and then sign my life away. Hopeful for an August delivery.
