Australasia Grenadier Delivery & Wait Times in Australia.

Reported elsewhere here was the thought that the vehicles bound for Aus. might be offloaded in Pt Kembla and/or Newcastle due to low numbers and faster processing....
Any RO/RO vessels due at either port this week?

It's a valid point, just don't know how close we could get. Maybe from the top of Bolte bridge or Westgate?

You should be able to look up the arse end of the Don Carlos from this spot! You'll need a 1000mm zoom lens and a cherry picker but it's doable.
Failing the cherry picker you could stand on that transformer box.

Thanks and a PS to the reply on the other thread I’m guessing that the NATO Anderson plug adaptor will be fused (50amp?) to protect the Anderson plug.

pps Magic in Perth may well be interested in hearing from you as well.
cheers
Steve
To be decided, as some people may want to place the fuse in the trailer or caravan rather than on the adapter cable.

Plus some caravans now use the higher rated 175 amp Anderson, so it may come down to what is most flexible.

I will put you down as a vote for a fuse built into the adapter, my preference.

Once the NATO>Anderson adapter is made and tested. I suspect the company will be happy to sell it to anyone interested - I would be.

I need to work with my dealer because they will have a car before I get mine. They are keen also as their consumers are asking for a solution, a win win.

I have asked for a fused version, but it is early days.

Well I did go for a nice long ride late this afternoon, including a few laps of the Albert Park Grand Prix circuit and then down to Port Melbourne along the beach path and YES - I saw that the DC (well it is very big and tall) is indeed at Webb Dock West which is where the RORO ships are berthed and YES, for about 2 minutes I saw tiny specks of cars being driven out from the rear.

I am making up the lead as we speak.
I have an expedition trailer with a 175amp Anderson that i connect to my current Defender to charge 2 x 110amp lithium ion batteries through a DC/DC charger.
Rather than cutting off the Anderson i am making up a lead that goes from Anderson to Nato using 50mm2 cable.
Reason for doing an adaption is i am nervous of pulling the lead (in the rare time i forgot to hitch properly and drop the trailer) and pulling cables out of a fixed Nato that is screwed in.
The Anderson will just pull out in that event.
I am also working on the fact the Nato is already fused but need to check (hopefully this week / early next when i get my car) the rating.

The rating of the NATO plug on the rear of the INEOS is 150 to 500 amps, but the dealer told me it was wired at 500 amps to run the optional rear winch:

Many thanks Michael. My thinking on the fuse location was to have it before the 50 amp Anderson plug to protect the lower rated plug and trailer wiring.

I'm hoping its going to be as simple as swapping out the current rated fuse (which will be somewhere close to battery / fuse box) and putting in the fuse rating you want.

by way of elimination (this could take sometime) they are definitely not on the Chinese Motor Tanker 'Titan Uranus'
I thought Titan Uranus was a Taco Bell slogan from few years back. Or was it those olestra chips?

For my mind, best practice would be to fuse the accessories you plan to use at an appropriate rating, so for example my compressor has a fuse in the power cable between the plug and the compressor. That way you can always have the appropriate fuse rating for what you are using

Rok Dr is just protecting the Anderson plug on the charging cable into the trailer/caravan (the max for a 50 amp Anderson plug). Any accessory in the trailer/caravan will have a separate fuse. That way the charging cable into the trailer/caravan and the plug do not melt or catch fire. A safeguard against higher amps coming from the NATO side, rated at 500 amps.
