what are the differences between 23 and 24? In terms of bongs? Is it lane departure sort of stuff?

The 2024 has the ADAS advanced driver stuff. I think you can tell the difference by looking at the rear view mirror housing ( although may be wrong). I think there is also a three pin socket in the boot too. Not sure what else though.

Three pin socket could be useful. Driver aids, depends what you’re doing with you vehicle. My Volvo has technology above and beyond, but can be switched on/off - options selected etc. Not sure I want all that on my Grenadier. Unless you can switch it off, and it stays off until you switch it back on.

Our American cousins seem to moan about having to switch off the stuff they don’t want every trip. Is this a market, local, thing? Or standard? I await your thoughts when you get yours!

Honestly having to switch off the start/stop every journey is bad enough!
Live where I do…. The battery is rarely charged enough for this to work (seems not to work under 70%). I have to agree that there appears to be a short, but noticeable, delay in the re start. Annoying. Volvo is quick enough to make beggar all difference.

I got a wave from a guy in a NEW defender yesterday 😅

Quite common to get a wave from old ones (real ones) but this is the first time I’ve had an acknowledgement from an L663.

Lol - I got a thumbs up from a Suzuki Jimny last week! Most new Defender drivers I encounter have their blinkers on - not looking, not looking... 😁

Welcome - first thoughts?
Enjoying it. Only two amber lights😁- tyre pressure PSI was 41/42 on a couple after 40mins of driving. Will do some searching, maybe overinflated by dealer. And then the advanced driving warning - dealer suggested one of the mechanics may have switched something off, but was still there when I restarted. Not complaining no bings or bongs.

Heading up to Fort Augustus in an hour or so via Dalwinnie/Spean Bridge and then some light off road tomorrow when shootings.

Last time I was there the defender had to come back on a flatbed😂. Hopefully more luck this time.

I’ve gone from never seeing another Grenadier on the road to it now becoming a daily occurrence! A dark coloured Grenadier heading into Tarland Wednesday morning and then another one towing a trailer on the B9119 the following day. I was on my bike on both occasions so thought it best not to wave and confuse them!

Here on Islay all drivers wave to every other driver - and pedestrians come to that. It takes several days on the mainland, and effort, to stop lifting a hand/ finger to other vehicles. It’s surprising how many total, random, strangers respond!
