Why does it bong when I drive over a hump?

Glad that Anand's suggestion worked for you. At first I thought the door wasn't closed tightly and adjusted the hook in slightly. Bong city! Made it 2 blocks from my house and turned around and came back. I then moved the hook out a bit and 90% of the bong went away. However, I still got bonged anytime I had a big dip in the road. I have a bigger tire and rotopax on the rear door. I then started wincing every time I hit a bump expecting a bong.

So.. and don't report me to the Ineos authorities, I pulled the upper plastic panel on the 70 door (I'd had it off when installing my Wolfbox) and snipped, stripped and crimped the two small wires that convey 'open door' back to the vehicle. Now, I can drive through any bump/dip in silence. I suppose I could reconnect them if I ever needed to..

I’m dealing with this today and might just do the same thing. F’ing technology where it isn’t needed.

A different source of the same "bongs" are the seats. If something like a bag or stuff triggers the pressure sensors. BONG!

I’m considering doing the same thing with the wires but I don’t see were they are. I pulled the cover on the top latches on the body side and maybe I’m blind but I don’t see the wires. Can you be a little more descriptive. I have 100 miles on dirt tomorrow and the back door bong is going to drive me nuts.

There are no wires on the body side catches. It’s the catches on the doors that have the signal wires.

I’m getting a few bongs over a 20 mile drive, louder than say the lane keeping warning, but no door warning shows on the screen.

The door ajar warning light doesn't continuous show. However I've found that once it bongs, for the duration of the drive, the error in "triggered" state, so it will appear in place of the fule + temp gauge, once every 20 sec or so, for a 5 sec duration...

The door ajar warning light doesn't continuous show. However I've found that once it bongs, for the duration of the drive, the error in "triggered" state, so it will appear in place of the fule + temp gauge, once every 20 sec or so, for a 5 sec duration...

So maybe it’s my 1-day past due Service warning. That’s all that I see in place of the fuel gauge. But I hear the bong even without the warning showing?

Yeah, when mine bonged it was too quick for the rear door open dash warning to pop up. I'm really glad I disabled it. The only wire you need is coming from the top latch on the 70 door, its two small wires

I moved the catch (for the 70% rear door) back out 2mm, the same amount I moved it inward while trying to isolate a cargo area noise. Then drove the same drive this weekend, one loud Bong (louder than lane keep bong) that coincided perfectly with the service past due pop-up. No other bongs the full remainder of the round-trip.
