What's everyone driving...?

- Lexus GX550 Overtrail Plus
- BMW X5 35d (love that diesel!)
- Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet
- Titleist Pro V1
Hey where is the Grenadier? I’m only picking as I am sure you picked the GX550 over it. Most of us on here I bet had the same decision to make too. I also was looking at the exact same vehicle/model and ended up going with the Grenadier instead. I have owned A LOT of cars over the years, but never a Porsche. One of my dreams cars is a 911 GT3 RS, but I just can’t see myself spending hundreds of thousands on one car unless I hit the lottery. Yes I could sell my collection and buy one, but that’s just a trade off I don’t want to do even as much as I love Porsche. Btw, what’s this “Titleist Pro V1” you listed? Some kind of new overseas model? Blahahahahaha I joke I joke I kid I kid. Swing away my friend!!! 🏌️👍

I've been following the Grenadier since Day 1 and put a reservation in the first day it became available. I still love that car - but when I went to pick mine up in Dec 2023 there were lots of gremlins that I found on the first drive that made me rethink the car. I then started calling dealers in January for the Lexus and was able to finally get what I wanted a couple of weeks ago. I still kick myself for not getting the Grenadier - but I do prefer the on-road manners of the Lexus. It might not be like the tank off road as the Grenadier - but I'll probably never put a car to those limits; it's mainly a Labrador transportation device anyway.

You haver quite the collection - Ive always loved the M5 - how they get that much juice out of those engines is amazing! Having 2 IG's - which model do you like better? Like the way you tricked those out!

Like every kid - I've been hooked on the 911 since I was 9. My wife surprised me with the current one on my birthday - have never driven such a purposeful vehicle like that before - the engineering is beyond words. Drove a Cayenne Turbo for many years and loved that as well, but not the same way. You could never pass a gas station though.

“Having 2 IG's - which model do you like better?”…..honestly love them both and they drove the same when they were stock, but now with the 2.5” lift and 35’s on the blue one it does have a little more play in it but still very drivable. Will be taken them off road later this year so will see how they do. Yes if you have never owned or driven an “M” series BMW you really don’t understand just how quick they are, especially mine being a 4 door sedan that can keep up with or pass a lot of sports cars. It is the competition version so 17 more hp over the stock 600 (doesn’t sound like much but it does make a difference), and it does have the Racechip GTS 5 black that adds around 119hp on the 617, and a few other go fast goodies. It just pulls and pulls and never lets up. Anyway, from one car guy to another….🙌

Since I'm waiting for my Grenadier still thought I'd contribute to probably only thread I can so far hehehe. I enjoy the so called automotive hobby. I spent much time on track and other high speed racing, but this will be my first true off-road venture other than side by side and farming, so I am looking forward to learning a lot on this forum.

Currently:

Grenadier of course
AM general M998
Mercedes Unimog U1300L
Mercedes Unimog 416 Doka
Mercedes Unimog 411C
Mercedes Unimog 404.1
Volvo C303
Mercedes G500
Rivian R1S
BMW F800GS
I have to admit I had to Google “Unimog” as didn’t have a clue what it was. Me likey! Are they built for any specific purpose? They look very utilitarian. Can you drive them on the roadways?

They are multipurpose in terms of their factory design thus the name Unimog or Universal-Motor-Gerät . They are all road legal and mine are built up for several purposes but mostly off-road work. The 404.1 is built as a dedicated Rock Crawler though. The 411C is mostly my idea of a neighborhood golf cart since it’s tiny.

- Grenadier TrialMaster (In spirit only)
- Lexus GX550 Overtrail Plus
- BMW X5 35d (love that diesel!)
- Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet

I bet you I know which one is hardest to keep in a straight line and out of hazards...you have a nice quiver though. The X5 35d is twin-turbo and the Grenadier has the twin-power turbo B57 which my TrialMaster has...brilliant and spirited for a heavy vehicle...Happy motoring ;)

How many would you like?

Very capable vehicle but too niche for expedition work. Slow, noisy, thirsty and a wheel track that is wider than most vehicles so they are hard to drive on narrow or rutted tracks.
Robert Pepper had a look at one recently.

Driving a 2019 Land Cruiser. No plan to sell it, but I’ve been going down the Grenadier rabbit hole. Seriously considering adding it to the garage.

I do have some concerns about long-term parts availability and the the viability of the Grenadier as a long-term company if Sir Radcliff isn’t around to provide the driving force of his passion in these vehicles….

I have a 2014 LC200 and the Gren. LC feels posh compared to it. Test drive it. You’ll either love it or hate it.

Look who it is!! My friend from across the pond. It’s me, the guy with 2 Grenadiers from the USA/Louisiana who you have been emailing for the last couple months. If you respond, PLEASE no personal info as I don’t want some of these riffraffs on this forum to know too much about me. 😁😉😎

I can 1000% verify this company is great at communicating, fast shipping even from across the ocean, products are beautiful/get so many compliments about the rear spoiler and fender flares, and ease of installation. All around one of the best products I have purchased for my first Grenny build. Btw, I am not affiliated or get anything from them for this post and Danny will be reading this for the first time out of shock seeing me on here as we have been talking about many things via emails over the last what couple months. Super nice guy and easy to talk to btw, and responded to ALL my stupid questions (he won’t say that but I know I asked a lot). Thanks again for EVERYTHING my friend and good luck!! I’ll still continue our chats via email after this post. 👍🙏

P.S. a few of pics of their products on my first Grenny:

Not bad for a mall crawler!

Not bad for a mall crawler!
The Queens red probably not a ton off-roading, but Ole Blue definitely. He’s being specifically built for me & my best friend (known each other for over 50 years, closer to him than my own siblings) start our fly fishing Odessa to travel to as many US states as possible to find the best fly fishing spots available and possibly report our travels via a podcast (something we are considering). This is coming from the most private person you may meet, me (posting on here is out of my norm trust me!!). My buddy can’t retire like me for another 3 years so I am getting it all ready for that time. But we won’t be waiting that long for some light off-roading as we have a camping trip planned at end of the year. Btw, I have absolutely ZERO issues with anyone doing whatever they want to their own vehicles whether they never take off road or go rock crawling. Always wondered why people make fun of “mall crawlers” as it’s not their vehicle or money being spent on it. It’s like when people comment on others cloths or home or whatever. Who cares about what others do or dress like or buy? Sure it’s your right to judge people/things, but to each his/her own. Neither of my Grenny’s will ever be rock crawling or driving in the Moab, but they will most certainly be used off road. Thanks for liking it though….cheers mate!! 👍🙌
