I'm curious - you seem like a true Toyota man, why the switch? I really liked my 80 and regret selling, but I couldn't bring myself to wheel it - it was too nice. I got it in 2017 or 18 and it didn't have 60k miles on the clock. Oddly, I'm not too hesitant (a bit) about taking a $90,000 IG off road, but that 80 was just too nice.

I have always liked old Defenders but not the build quality. This seemed like a great modern solution, and what Toyota should have done with the FJ Cruiser with a SFA.

However, all of the small issues out of the gate are a bit concerning, especially because I'll be 275 miles from a dealer. If they don't resolve the initial QC before I am set to sign, I will bail. If I do bail, there is still a good chance I'll get one later if the issues are figured out. I'm hopefull the initial issues are worked out soon.

With all the issues being reported, from missing trim, broken or uncharged a/c, etc. It makes me wonder what is going on. Their factory has a good history of good QC historically. I'd rather have more delays and communication to customers vs rigs hastily assembled. And while missing trim, or software issues is not a huge deal, it makes me question fit, finish and other QC issues that may pop up after a few years.
