Seems like production might be on for January by the sounds of it so fingers crossed. How about a new thread with more positive sounding discussions to counter balance the “shut down” thread?
A tradie mate of mine rang to tell me about the QuarterMaster being advertised for sale and is pretty keen...so they best pull their fingers out(y)

For those interested the Magna ladies above their names are Greta, Gracie, Gretchen, Griselda and Granata.

Other positives are:
  1. The brand even exists in this day and age
  2. Aftermarket products are picking up for the Grenadier
  3. Quartermaster is getting out there
  4. Forum community is growing and supportive of the brand and each other
  5. Production is likely to start soon again
  6. US market seems strong and likely to continue to grow
  7. China market and others opening suggests the brand has legs and is forward looking
  8. New dealers are being added and many have plans to expand as the brand does
  9. Very few other new vehicles exist in this class
  10. Early production issues exist but are being chipped away at
Seems to be a few good things to be grateful for while at the same time being realistic and pragmatic as owners or followers of the brand. Ultimately, we are the ones who will be advocates for the brand positively or otherwise. After all, don’t we want Ineos to win on this which will only benefit us in the end?

I wonder if they’ll build a plant in the US to meet demand in their biggest market and avoid tariffs
New tariffs will hurt US buyers of many products, for sure. But re/ Ineos' biggest market ... remember what Calder at Ineos said last month: "Today in Beijing, we officially entered the world’s largest car market: China."

I know absolutely squat about the Chinese car market.

Are they big buyers of stuff like the Grenadier? Premium SUV’s I could see, yeah, but these?

Can’t really speak to what potential exists in the Chinese market either but IA sees something of merit there but let’s see what happens. The specter of new tariffs from the incoming US administration is only going to hurt everything and everyone but if the American market is indeed the shining star for IA in terms of units sold it could be worth the investment in permanent domestic production facilities. At least it would strengthen the brand image further and set some minds at ease as to the brands intentions all together.

Having US based manufacturing might also help avoid the “Chicken Tax” on the Quartermaster. I hope they offer the version without the rear bed installed as I could see the “Van Life” vendors quickly building some very interesting overlanding configurations for it.
