Green Gren
Grenadier Owner
1wk of ownership and got to test out Grenadier in some Sierra snow, packed powder and fresh stuff.
Tires were better than expected, good braking, consistent acceleration grip, and when they did step out, they were predictable in their understeer. All I see online is the KO2 is not great for snow/wet, but great for rocky/sandy. (Any other tires that people like for snow/wet instead of the KO2?)
The front wipers suck. Borderline dangerous in freezing temperatures combined with falling light snow and heavy frozen slush from road spray. Really uneven pressure on the blade and severe snow build up. Gonna change those out as soon as I’m home.
Got to experience the heater whine (pretty loud) at full blast. Kind of annoying when you’re trying to mitigate the ice and snow buildup on the sucky wipers. Any solution for this noise? It’s only on full blast, nothing on the other settings. Going in for an A/C flush and refill this week, so might bring the heater whine up too, assuming it’s fixable and not a “quirk”.
The center locker (4H/locked) is night and day better for slippery, slushy, snow covered roads over the open diff (standard 4wd). Makes for a much more secure and planted experience when the road got bad.
