Tell me about that Airedale!
Great dog, great breed, smart and very social. It is our first Airedale. We have always owned German Shepards, another great breed, but the hair and shedding is constant. The Airedale is a much different personality than the Sheppard. Razzle is 10 years old and loves to camp, backpack, hike, hunt, play chase with other dogs and of course loves being with the family. How old is you Airedale?

She'll be five tomorrow as a matter of fact. She's my first, but my wife grew up with them - she's a bit nutty and is a bad influence on my lab, but has a comical personality and is very affectionate.

Hey, today I took the Grenny to the workshop.
There is a new steering wheel because the saddle leather was damaged upon delivery.
The error memory is read out, but that is always done anyway.
The air conditioning is vented and refilled, but given the crude behavior of the A/C, this seems to be more of a software problem IMO.
There are three campaigns from Ineos, see photo.

To try to avoid the @Logsplitter problem of the transfer case cables, see his post on

I fixed a stainless plate on the free L-shaped fixation piece, using the hole that he used for his temporary repair with Colson straps.
A plate of 5cm X 9cm was sufficient, but I found in my metal pieces box a slightly larger plate, and I only had to drill a hole of 7mm, and find some screw and bolt and washer.

It is floating (upper side of the picture, there were it is bend) but the plate is so stiff, that I hope it will help.

I had an order from @OverlandGearGuy come in today.

Molle Visor Organizer with Mirror
The wife cordially requested a mirror for the navigator seat, so I ordered the Molle Visor Organizer with Mirror to strap onto the passenger sun visor.

Overall, I'm happy with this. Plenty of space for storing stuff.

We'll be strapping an infant into the back seat in a month, and I figured the lack of storage behind the front seats may pose a problem.

I didn't realize (or think too hard about it) when I was ordering this that it hangs loose from the headrest. Adult passengers in the back probably won't like this rubbing on their knees and it will be in the way of loading the car seat in and out. So, I decided that this can be repurposed for some trunk storage.

After (Take II):

My greyhound will be regularly traveling back here, and I need somewhere to put all her supplies.

I was a bit concerned with folks sharing that the logos on gear from there looking more like a billboard, but these are quite reasonably sized. The stitching and materials used on these is great quality-- highly recommended!

20 INCH LIGHTBAR ON TOP LOOP OF THE ROO BAR?
I have been working on a little project for a few weeks now. I find out tomorrow whether it will work.

I was going to install a 10-inch low profile LED Lightbar under the top loop of the Roo Bar (in NSW it is illegal to mount then above the Roo Bar – even though people do it).

After some research I am now trying to mount a 20-inch lightbar there instead– it will either just fit or not fit. It is so close we need to do an actual test fit.

I needed low profile mounting brackets, which I now have and I have done a test bracket fitting. I had worked out 3 ways to mount the 20-inch lightbar to the bracket, but after the test fitting 2 of those ways will not work. All 3 should work with a 10-inch lightbar. Power will come from the 10 amp bonnet circuit, with some other wiring.

I do not want my mounting brackets or lightbar to be an additional pedestrian risk, so everything must be behind or inline with the Roo Bar. When mounted, the Roo Bar slopes backwards from the bumper.

When I visit ORS tomorrow, we will try and fit the 20-inch lightbar, the worst-case scenario is we fit the 10-inch lightbar instead.

I could not locate many 15-inch lightbars with the right profile – I found one with a hefty price tag (over twice the price of the one I am buying). I want to reduce any interference with air flow to the radiator, so options are limited to single row, low profile lightbars.

I could probably mount the 20 inch lightbar down of the bumper, but with a winch installed, I do not want to drill holes or have bolts in the bumper anywhere near the winch.

Drove 800kms as part of a 7000km round trip Perth-Melbourne return, second day the high oil level light came up randomly… manual check and all good , light has gone.

Apart from a horrendous headwind causing very ordinary fuel consumption vehicle goes and travels well.

Probably my favorite offroad van, made in Ballina, New South Wales. Looks like it sits well behind the Grenadier.

I am returning to Ballina in mid May, visiting my mother and then to the Channel Country in Outback Queensland.

Just did a short trip with an empty oven on, I already have my first burn :) (very minor). I will place some insulation over the top of the oven, between the oven and the roof shelf. I want to minimize heat transfer to the shelf. I am glad I did this test before using the oven in anger for 2-3 hours, there was more heat and heat transfer than I was expecting.

I think over time the heat transfer to the shelf needs to be monitored. Reminded once again why I do a shake down test after an install. A few tweaks and she will be good to go.
Travel buddy is now better insulated.

I have added some heat insulation above the oven and below the shelf. It is held in place by being sandwiched between the two, after bolts were tightened on the KAON mounting bracket.

I will also use for silver treated cloth to lay across the whole shelf, providing more heat insulation. I just need to cut it to size and I will use a double layer.

I will retest the oven in the next few days.

Sounds familiar - I tried and failed with a 21.5” in that location before swapping for the 14”. It was a combination of fitment and wanting to avoid casting shadows on the auxiliary light spread.

Croom WMA in Brooksville, FL on Sunday. This was the only place I got stuck. If my tires were a couple inches taller I would have made it all the way.

I also bent a mounting tab on the back side of the driver front bumper that holds the black trim in place on the back of the bumper…and now the plastic trim won’t sit right, so I’ll have to take apart the other side tomorrow and see if I can bend it back into shape

Last sunday I had the opportunity to try my Trialmaster in an off road trial.
In the first course I damaged the small cooler in the bumper on the right.
While reversing, a small tree or branch hit the back of the bumper pushing the plastic cover hard against the fan, or mounting lip, pushing the lower right lip into the cooler.

After bypassing the cooler by connecting the 2 hoses with a piece of pipe, and filling up the high pressure tank (the low pressure tank did’t loose any fluid) I was able to continue.
Even driving home 1,5 hours the temperature stayed at 90°C, only the heater wasn't working. No one, even the agent, seems to know what the extra cooler is for.

For a stock standard car/truck/suv with AT tires the grenadier quite well.
Everything worked as it should, even switching the lockers on and off.
At first I was a bit frustrated by the fact that every time you stop the engine, the front and rear difflocks unlock itself. After a few times I got used to it.
The biggest problem I find the ground clearance of under the tank, also the scoop that protects the muffler did a good job as shuffle.

Have a good day, Fabio

Well done on the pipe fix. I imagine a replacement auxiliary radiator will be expensive.
Pleased that the Grenadier managed the off road course OK. I’m with you on the rear bash plate. It just acts as a scoop to pick up mud, sand etc.

95 miles on narrow undulating (on road high range only) roads in the Scottish Borders - 29.3 mpg.
With 3000 miles on the odometer the engine appears to be " loosening up "
29.3mpg, I'm struggling to hit 25 driving carefully at 55-60mph on the motorway but I do have front and rear lockers with the BF Goodrich tyres. I was hoping for better with the diesel and now over 6500 miles on it. On A roads it's no better if not worse.
