Didn't really notice it until tonight, but the dealer misaligned my oil fill cap and now I have oil all over the engine compartment. Messing with the cap it seems an honest enough mistake that the cross thread happened. Took a bit for the oil to show up; 50 miles of New Orleans Causeway bouncing will do that.
However the Gren smells like a diesel burning oil and I need daylight to figure out how screwed the surrounding engine bits are.
First two bits are a bit low light, but the right side is high (missing the threads). Third pic is after I loosened and refit.
Mossy changed the oil a couple thousand miles ago. No one else has ever touched the engine. Interesting because I now know I am not the only one for such an incident from Mossy.
Video of finding the leak, edited off the front part where I was searching. The amount of oil smoke made me think leak onto the exhaust manifold.
