A take off from this thread:
And the "first" known customer VIN:
Interesting that the VIN number I have is slightly different:
SC6GN2DB2PFxxxxxx

ive added the x’s to hide the actual production number, but it’s in the first 1000. The letters and numbers all have meaning. My orders is for the diesel variant which may explain some difference . I’m sure someone will know what they all mean..

Google suggests a number of different ways of decoding a VIN, so this one is a starter for 10:

or
Screenshot_20221230_190628.jpg

where:
WMI = World Manufacturer Identifier
VDS = Vehicle Descriptor Section
VIS = Vehicle Indicator Section

1st guess:

SC6 = Ineos Automotive Ltd
G = Grenadier
N = commercial?
2 = right hand drive?
D = diesel?
B2 = body type?
P = 2023 model year
F = Hambach plant
xxxxxx = sequential number

That’s great decoding. Like cracking the ENIGMA….

D = diesel?
BX = body type?

VIS = Vehicle Indicator Section

Was it for your own vehicle?

Given that the PTO3s that have been photographed have had numbers in the late 400s, early 500s, which from the VIN plates seem to confirm that the sequential numbering runs on from each prototype iteration, then a customer VIN under 1,000 may actually be under 500 in terms of full type approved launch series.

Not sure if this is of interest but I got a call from Ineos today giving me a shipping date of the 20th of January, and that it’d be in my hands about 10 days later..! If you’re a December build with a vin under 800, you may be close to shipping too. They also said that a software issue has held up deliveries but that they’d got on top of it.

Please Please Please let us know what it like to drive on the road as soon as you can, I had a chance off road and was impressed, but want to know noise levels + motorway driving speeds what its like. My build date is Feb.
thanks

After all the waiting (and us Stateside types have at least another year than the ROW), those final three days after the dealer calls and says “it’ll be in xxx afternoon” are going to be the slowest in our automotive lives. There is no chance in hell I’ll be able to sleep the night before. It’s Christmas Eve and I’m 10 again.

Has anyone else received the VIN of their IG already? I’ve received mine today: SC6GM1DAXPF00xxxx
(Trialmaster, passenger car version with 5 seats, LHD, Diesel, delivered to Germany)
