Someone jumped the gun….

Feb22 and June 30th on the pre-order. Finally got an email last night that they are still thinking about me…

And the website now has a status for my vehicle, and a nice PDF for it.

The email I got from them says that your reservation and pre-order date does not necessarily guarantee the build chronology because of certain option/part availability.

FAQs
Why have some received their estimated build window, while others have not?

For those who placed an initial reservation, we’re working our way through pre-orders based on the original reservation date. After this, for those who did not place a reservation, we’re taking the same approach, working through the pre-orders in chronological order. The number of pre-orders received has been phenomenal. This has taken us longer than expected, working with our Hambach scheduling teams, to allocate to production. However, we commit that this will be complete, with every customer who placed a pre-order up to the end of July receiving an estimated build window from us by the end of August. The team will continue to process and schedule any subsequent pre-orders just as quickly as possible. Apologies for the delay and thanks for your patience!
What are the steps towards taking delivery of my Grenadier?

I. Pre-order confirmation:
In your online account, your status will change to “pre-ordered”, and you’ll be assigned your pre-order number. There, you’ll also be able to see a PDF showing your configuration details.

II. Estimated build window: You’ll receive an email indicating your estimated production timeframe and your online account status will change to “in production”.

III. Grenadier “In Transit”: Once your Grenadier has left the factory, your account will then change to “In Transit”. Your vehicle will be on its way and your Retail Partner will then inform you of the estimated arrival date.
Why do some of the earliest reservation holders have a later production date than those with a reservation placed at a later date?

Some vehicle configurations have options that are currently limited in availability. This is a temporary situation, but some vehicle deliveries will be built slightly later, to meet the exact specifications of the customer’s build.
4. When do I receive the details of my selected Retail Partner and what do I need to do?

When we announce our Retail Partners, you will receive an email confirming your designated retail partner based on your selected delivery area. The partner responsible for your selected delivery area will receive your contact details, together with the specifics of your Pre-Order, and will be in touch with you directly. But please don’t hesitate to contact them also.

I wonder which vehicles options are temporarily limited in availability (per this morning's IA email). We can probably figure it out if folks with early reservations (with and without build slots) share their configurations.

It will be interesting to see whether Ineos' delivery approach to the North American market includes holding the build/delivery of the vehicle until it can ensure all the extra kit - like roof racks, roof bars, rock sliders, etc. can be timely installed or delivered to dealers to install, as appropriate, with it or even in advance of arrival. That would minimize the initial negative reaction of buyers and consequent online groaning posts/reports of same by those who had to travel a long way to their dealership:

"I had to drive 3 hours to collect the vehicle and my roof rack and rock sliders were nowhere to be seen! They say they hope they come in soon and they'll let me know when I can drive back three hours to have them fitted. They said they thought the roof rack would come in first in a month or so, and I could drive three hours over to have that installed and then come back the following month or so to have the rock sliders installed when they arrive. Awesome!"

If I was Ineos, I would want to ensure the NA rollout goes as smoothly as possible. Good press/customer reaction encourages future sales and I'm sure there are plenty over here champing at the bit to find a reason to criticize it. So, I'm wondering if the build/delivery dates are also taking into consideration the production of the accessories ordered. We shall see.

I have yet to have my preorder info on my account. All that I added to my TM was the saddle leather and safari windows.

Yep, got mine as well.
Hi Richard,

Great news. We’ve scheduled your Grenadier build. All the details can be found here, so you can keep tabs on its progress.

Production details:

• Pre-order number: 9928
• Estimated build window: Q4 2023

I am curious what email people are referring to that makes mention of some parts delays?
