I’m sure this has been discussed elsewhere but a staff member at my dealership said to me today when I visited, that the vehicles were still being held up by type approval. I assumed that this should have been done months ago.
Does anyone have anymore details on this?

It must be done or the first deliveries wouldn’t have happened.

Black with alloys if anyone wanted to see how it looks

I am pretty sure that is not the case.

I think in Ireland they’re still waiting on Revenue classification for motor tax - business & pleasure. Insurance companies now have the car profile available to quote so I’d take it Type approval has been obtained in IE for that to happen ….. but happy to be corrected!

Insurance Co did ask me if FM or TM edition. Haven’t got price yet as have to wait for del date before they’ll commit

That would just be the EU type approval wouldn't it, nothing further to add for the Irish market in terms of type approval?

Yeah, good point. Maybe there’s a certain amount of autonomy for each country? Friends differ etc …… but let’s not go there 😅 I’d say it’s more tax authorities approving how it can be classed for commercial/BIK etc.

Can anyone clear up for me if in the uk, we need separate confirmation from the VCA (vehicle certification agency) as we are no longer an EU. Member?

Ie Vehicle Type Approval is the confirmation that production samples of a type of vehicle, vehicle system, component or separate technical unit will meet specified performance standards. The GB type approval scheme is applicable for manufacturers wishing to place vehicles and components on the market in Great Britain.
