Trump tariff. Ineos Automotive is dead right?

If you're on the subject of my Commander in Chief, the only advise I can give other nations is to distance yourselves. I mean, do everything you can to isolate your countries to limit the impact of the economic implosion. The sole source of our power since the 70's was the wisdom to insinuate the Dollar as the worlds reserve currency and between the tariffs, the never ending sanctions, and now the lashing out at our most valued friends and partners, there's going to be a movement to 'something' else. It was a ponzi scheme that permitted us to print the gold consumer economies needed, and in return for that right, we policed the world as benevolently as we could with stability as the goal. It benefited all participants. The orange moron isn't able to bring himself to act beyond the myopic "ME FIRST, I'm the center of my world" emotional state of a 3rd grader, let alone understand such cooperation made the world go around. He's going to burn it down. It no longer benefits the world. There is no backstop here, for his actions.

American exceptionalism was the willful handing over of control, and the obedience to the system. During the debates to form the government, there were enough men that had difficulty with the concept of there not being a unitary executive power, that president was given too much discretion. Hence, we have a Pardon Power, and the tools for removal have a bar set way to high for practical use. The positions domestic roll is to execute the laws and decisions of the courts, but there is no effective mechanism to compel compliance outside of impeachment and conviction. As President Andrew Jackson (trumps only Presidential hero) was once incorrectly attributed with saying, "(Chief Justice) John Marshal has made his ruling, now let him enforce it". A minority of Congress can protect him, and a minority want to bring it all down in the name of White Christian Nationalism.

The current court has been hostile to any laws written by Congress that limited the Presidents ability to remove the heads of departments. They are Federalist Society Unity Executive acolytes. They have given him the power to be King, and he intends on grasping it with both hands. He is firing anyone that hints of loyalty to the country over him. The President is a grifter Real Estate man, and the Federal Reserve just refused to lower rates to maintain the stability of recovery (astounding job they did, btw). His position is supposed to be untouchable by politicians whims. Do not be shocked when the campaign to remove him begins, so fat f**k and Musk can access the money supply. They, not expericed indoctonated globalist bankers, will have influence over the money supply kept in the banks of world governments.

Do not be shocked when the campaign for a third term starts. Did Ghengis Khan walk away? Did Julius Ceasar walk away? Did Adolf or Stalin? Do mobsters that have committed crimes and made mortal enemies, like the Gotties or Gambinos just walk away in peace? .... I pray I'm in error, and the winds blow to make this post appear to be nothing more than sunday morning paranoid foolish rantings and rambelings, but when I look at history, I just dont see it ending well. It would a statistical outlier in history. Our only solid hope of recovery starts with is his advanced age, and a weak bench unable to corral the troops such as he has. Outside of that, I do not predict free and fair elections, and a peaceful handover of power in 4 years.

Have a chipper Sunday morning!!!
This is an automotive forum. You are certainly entitled to your own political opinions but you are way off topic. Take this to a more appropriate forum.

There is no tariff yet. More than likely won’t be a tariff. More than likely wouldn’t last long even if imposed. Not gonna get excited about something that doesn’t exist…

That was already a game plan before the introduction of tariffs. I assume your saying the announcement?
I didn't know of any announcement but this might speed it up for sure!!! The smiley face was me being for of instigating the topic for discussion.

Leaving out any incentives France likely gave them to take over the plant and export, it doesn't appear they have turned the corner with the capacity they have and are locked into. 1-2 billion and how much time to set up another plant for 10-20k cars a year netting 5000 a car if the business is run well and there aren't recalls, along with losing that production at the other plant? If he's still that interested in the project enough to piss into the wind like that great, but boy, talk about scope creep from the original plant in wales. I'm sure GM has some extra capacity somewhere, so maybe contract assembly and use a better less expensive LS based v8... I wouldn't thing twice about that trade in.

Soon we will hear Ineos Automotive to build first plant in the US....... :)
But all the parts in the Grenadier are EU or Chinese sourced, no parts come from the US so it would surely just be an assembly plant and therefore still attractive tariffs

Magna has some large plants here too, BMW has I think their largest production here and so I think parts wise it won't be much impact. But Im just guessing have no real knowledge of their next steps.

Trump threatens to impose tariff on the E.U.

Many times I reply to the last post or maybe a theme from the last page of posts.... I went back to the beginning and was curious what was meant by

Trump tariff. Ineos Automotive is dead right?

I get the tariff but wasn't certain what was meant by 'dead right' (like right or wrong, left or right, conservative or liberal, "dead, right":)

Well, unless the UK/EU starts allowing illegals and drugs to enter CONUS there shouldn't be a “Yet”. That's what started the issue with Mexico, Canada, and China in the first place. This is the Presidents retaliation to those countries for purposely hurting the US.

I wonder why doing something to stop, or at least significantly reducing, drugs and illegals coming through the borders is such a big ask if our countries are such good friends🤔

With that said, none of that should affect Ineos.
You guys don’t seriously think the tariffs on Canada are about illegal immigration and fentanyl? The northern border accounted for 1.5% of Border Patrol apprehensions and less than 1.0% of fentanyl seizures.

The tariffs on Canada are a warning to the rest of the free world, if they are willing to shaft a like minded and significant trading partner this way the rest of you better give us what we want or you will be next. Therefore unless the EU concedes to his demands there is a high chance of new US Grenadier prices rising in the future.
