Trump announces 25% tariff on all imported vehicles!

I've got too many possums raiding my garden . You can take them out. However, there is a risk of jail time if caught. You , not the possum!
I'm not a hunter. Truth be told, I've been feeding a small group of deer for years on my property. They even come in when I call them. My guns are exactly as the Founders envisioned - to protect against tyranny, both foreign and domestic. I hope to never use them for either.

The problem with this is we are all in different countries with different political systems (and what I am about to say is not aimed at Donald Trump or any other of the world politicians, so don't assume i am attacking anyone's political beliefs)
Politicians are in it for money, fame and a legacy, most/all have no real idea on how things work in the real world and if they stick to 'their principles' it doesn't work as others don't have the same beliefs. We have politicians in charge of departments that have never had anything to do with in either education or work yet they know best on what to do because of their political belief. Politics is based on a belief system and sometimes one works better than the other and vice versa. We have a leader who says something and the opposition will disagree even if it's the right thing and then when in power they change their tune. For true polics to work it would depend on everyone being honest, decent and acceptable to compromise. Whilst we have countries like Russia China and other dictatorships decency cannot work.
None of us truly know what the US President truly thinks or is aiming to achieve, we only have our own beliefs. Things seem to be thrown out to confuse and distract in the same way as we have 'leaks' in government as away of gauging a response without enacting any policy.
If you want to truly understand politics you have to listen to every side with an open mind then you can make the unbiased conclusion,
THEY ARE ALL CLUELESS AND IN IT FOR THEMSELVES.
Exactly. As James Madison defended the US Constitution's checks and balances "Ambition to counteract Ambition."

I also don't hunt and haven't for many years.
I just really love the engineering and functionality of a good weapon.

I think that is as good an answer as any. But as far as "freedoms" in the USA that other countries don't "enjoy", they're the privilege protected by the First and Second Amendment. Although, I use the word "enjoy" loosely as these privileges - specifically gun rights, free speech, religious freedom and freedom of the press - are the root cause of many disagreements in the US. They keep the lawyers busy! Freedom is messy.
I think of this when reading your comment. In 1967, following a Black Panther Party protest where members marched into the California State Capitol carrying loaded firearms, then-Governor Ronald Reagan signed the Mulford Act, making it a felony to publicly carry a loaded firearm without a permit. Regan decision was supported by the NRA. Who has opposed the idea today and in past. I wonder why they changed.

OK ....not political as requested, just plain curious.
I am always confused when I hear an American refer to their freedoms????
What freedoms do you believe you have that the rest of us don't???
We took full advantage of their freedoms in Page AZ last year, highly recommended for foreign nationals passing through the area. Took a month to get the smile off my son's face.

A stick is a stick is a stick. Speak softly - and carry a large one...and a small machete if you are a teen and live in Melbourne.

I have some doubts that you really are 😄 😄 😄 😄 😄
I had a SIG226 and a CZ Shadow 2 in 9mm semi auto but sold them a couple of years ago because I wanted to go back to a good old 357 Magnum revolver.
I bought a new 4WD at the same time so was a bit tight for cash

I thought that they took them all away from you with the NFA in 1996.

No
They just took semi auto rifles and shotguns and restricted handguns.
To be honest most people were happy to hand them in and get the money for them.
There were lots of guns in sheds, under beds and on top of wardrobes that were never used.
You have to be a member of a gun club and shoot a minimum of 6 times a year for handguns
For rifles and shotguns the same unless they are for hunting and you own, or have permission to shoot on, a property that is at least 40 acres.
They also have to be stored in a gun safe at home.
Self defense is not an approved reason for a civilian unless a licensed security guard.

Baseball bat sales are at an all time high in Melbourne, and no-one plays baseball 'round here. A Louisville Slugger under the bed, a scary looking dog in the yard and a door lock that you actually lock is all you need.

The fact that you just introduced the association of gun ownership with bravado and superiority means that you might associate gun ownership with bravado and superiority. … I don't know anyone who brags about their guns.
Fair enough. I’ll revise to say that America may just be loud and proud and “guns forward” because when asked for a uniquely American freedom, you suggested the ability to buy a gun today. It’s not that unique, but it seems, to an outsider, to be a preoccupation.

….about 98% of the time. It’s the other 2% that aren’t negotiable.

Dave's just jealous he can't legally shoot rainbow unicorns, except with his camera at the Mardi Gras ;)

Our doors lock but windows not so much and except dead of winter they are all open anyway.
No dog but have 3 cats that get pretty pissed off when woken up.
Old habit but I have a Hanbo behind the door and a Jo in the kitchen.
Both a good length to use in confined space and made of hardwood.
Had them for 20 years and never used them for anything other than training.

Well, when asked what are our the unique freedoms enjoyed by Americans, there are only a few answers to give. It was more preponderance than preoccupation.

Most countries have all of those freedoms as well.
I always love the way everyone stands firm on the 2nd amendment but nobody complained too much when the 21st amendment repealed the 18th Amendment.
I wouldn't either.

I would also do that if I ever went there as well.
The setup at Gunfighter Canyon in Page is awesome; modern, clean and reassuringly professional staff. Super chilled, no hassle and really helpful. Wide range of guns to suit the older crowd and the younger COD devotees like my kids. We did something similar in Orlando the previous year but these guys were in a different league of professionalism. Top tourist tip: there a good laundry around the corner so you can load up the washing machines, go shoot some guns, them come back to squeaky clean duds.

All this talk of guns , and youngsters holding guns, is making Donald very nervous. And he's pissed off at Putin. You don't want pissed and nervous leaders.
Now , let's get back to talking tariffs!
Or let's not 😁
