I’d love to « plan » oil changes but 3500 KM round trips aren’t exactly feasible. And Ineos knew it wouldn’t have a dealer network. That is probably the most egregious “error”
Sure - that would get my goat as well. But, as much as I would cheer you on in your efforts to get relief on these issues, realistically Ineos isn’t listening or responding to what you, as an individual, are saying. They are sorting and prioritizing the input from all of the owners and dealers. And it’s not like they are sitting around fretting about winning or losing the PEI market. These things will get done - one way or the other. Maybe your dealer just keeps giving you loaners while your vehicle sits on their lot in the meantime. That would be one heck of a nice dealer. In the meantime, life is short - I try not to stress too much about these things. If you let it get to you too much, better to just get the dealer to take it back, and move on to something that’s easier to deal with.

I have the loaner because they are keeping my truck for 6+ Weeks, it has so many problems it’s not even funny. Add in top of that software that is annoying and you end up with one useless truck. So yeah I’ll likely have the Ineos Loaner till 2025.

I find that, in this life, there is one irrefutable truth. We get back the energy that we put in to the universe.

As a fairly advanced and mature western democracy are there State or Federal consumer protection laws in Canada? With that many defects surely there is action that can be taken and pressure which can be applied to your dealer to resolve the issue or get a refund? Maybe its your local member of parliament or consumer affairs office that your should be directing your ire towards?

You would think so, but you’re thinking of Venezuela. Canada is in the iron grip of a military junta. All tort law is mediated through The Law of the Lumberjack. Litigants must sledge to the arctic circle, where they compete for the amusement of the Lord of Winter and Darkness who sits on his throne of ice, throwing an occasional Tim Horton’s donut into the Ring of Combat and releasing his pack of ice wolves, who devour not only the donut, but usually the litigants, as well. It’s a pretty ruthless and rudimentary judicial system, much like what you have in Australia. I’ve seen the documentary with Mel Gibson. So you can understand why we fear Canadians so much here in the US.

Hey, Mel Gibson is from Peekskill New York and as per my Google Machine described as an "American Actor & Filmmaker". You are welcome to have him back now he has gone off the reservation.

I do not know anyone in this threads, heck anyone on this entire forum personally, so I am a neutral 3rd party reading this thread for the first time right now and for what it’s worth will add my $0.02 in…..

First IslandFalconer, I don’t think anyone is trying to annoy or make fun of your circumstances. When the comment was made about eating an extra Cheerio to push a few extra buttons, I personally took that as a joke. Sure maybe you are so angry at your circumstances that you are not in the mood for jokes, but the same right that gives you this forum to come on and type up all your issues and anger gives others the same right to try a little levity in maybe hopes of making you smile or easing the situation. Guess that didn’t work out like it was probably intended. 🤷‍♂️

I absolutely feel bad for you in your situation. I am one the people that feel in love with the Grenadier and I ended up buying a 2nd one and luckily have had ZERO issues with either. This has been in the last 3-4 months so, not sure if older production models have more of the gremlins or not. Is it perfect, of course not what vehicle is? But this thing makes me want to get out and drive again. I literally try to find reasons to run errands, go to the store, just get out and drive one of them. I have owned MANY vehicles over the last 15-20 years, and this is honestly the first one that made me want to buy a 2nd one.

Call me crazy, some do, but I am even considering buying a Quartermaster when they hit the USA, depending on if they can get around the “chicken tax” (Google it it’s a real USA law on importing trucks to the USA and being charged a 25% tax fee, yea 25% so add that to the already high cost of there rides and then it gets too high for me at least I am sure some will still pay that). So that will make 3! Anyway, myself and you have obviously had totally different experiences on Grenadier ownership. My advise to you would be to sell it and move on honestly. If you really want one, then find a way (sell, trade in, something) to get rid of the one you have and get you a different Grenadier as maybe you do have a “lemon”. In the USA we have a “lemon law” and can make the dealership take the vehicle back if documented recurring problems occur. Not sure if Canada (just seeing your avatar in this post looks like that’s your country) has a similar law, but maybe look into that as well. Just trying to give you some positive ideas. I don’t think anyone here is trying to upset you, but in all honesty some of your post to me seem overly aggressive and angry. You might be that way because of your circumstances, but maybe just read the comments with an open mind and realize the posters are only trying to help with advise or even jokes in hope of even for a few minutes make you forget what’s going on. Again, this is just a random forum member reading your posts and the responses. Good luck with your situation, and I do mean that!!

Never said he was Australian - he just starred in the definitive documentary, Mad Max. I can understand why you guys got the Grenadier first - you really want something rugged and reliable in that kind of social chaos and ecological hellscape.

Time has moved on here a bit, the Halls of Justice is now an "arts park" where the inner urban elite and their offspring gather with their Boston Terriers for farmers markets and a bit of outdoor amateur theatre.

I’m in Melbourne once in a while - pretty gruesome stuff. Lord of the Flies for bankers.

Just saw this and it’s hilarious. It isn’t far from the truth but you forgot to mention the Gladiator Beavers.

That being said we have no lemon laws in most of Canada. We do have an arbitration system but the manufacturers has to willingly participate and sign up. Ineos has not. So it’s also not available. My only recourse would be small claims court and that’s 2-3 years to a maximum of $8000 so yeah we kind of have to deal with the Tim bits

Gladiator Beavers. It’s a struggle every day to keep them on your side of Lake Superior. I’m sorry - that one deserved a ChatGPT lookup

Lemon Laws aside, here’s one of my favorite pieces of Canadian jurisprudence from the last 10 years.

Oh - and here are the ice wolves. It’s a picture on the interwebs so it has to be true, in case any of the Aussies think we’re exaggerating about Canada

I think that’s about as Canadian a gladiator brave as you can get.

Canadians can give the middle finger, women can go topless, and we have to give all our guns back. But hey we have maple syrup

Yeah - we’ve got maple syrup in Wisconsin too - and guns. But we’re polite like Canadians and apologize for everything- even if it’s not our fault. No gladiator beavers, though - that would be an invasive species like Asian Carp
