Tremec gearbox cannot be switched

OK, it’s not very complicated to remove the shifter. You’ll need to pull the shaft and the spring out, compress them, put the pin back in and then reinstall the shifter. If it happens again, I might have to add a little bit of glue, but overall very easy fix

Can you describe how to remove the shifter?

If anyone finds the pin:
Please measure it and share the dimensions here.
The pin is not available separately - in Germany - the whole gearshift has to be replaced!

That's a traditional way to make a small bulge to pin so that it jams into the hole. There should be 3 of those pressings.
Seems to me if should have been a split pin that would have been a press in fit or perhaps some type of keeper to prevent it from falling out. Instead of a zip tie, would a small section of a tight rubber sleeve hold the pin in or would that interrupt with pulling up on the collar? DaBull

My pin fell out today. How did you pull the lever and knob out?

I am trying to receive some knowledge from you.

My Grenadier has 33,000 kms (approx 20,000 miles). I bought It in June 23. Transfer changed under warranty in July 23.( There was a calle in)

In the last months I can only shift to low gear when the engine is warm. When the engine is cold, there is no way to engage low gears.

Locking center diff is no issue.

With the engine warm I can easily engage low and high gears.

Car is in dealer since yesterday and I am sure they will find the problem, but I want to know your comments.

Thank you

The pin was discussed a while ago, here is replacement https://www.mcmaster.com/91610A411/. Note they even have Solidwork cad file for the pin.

I have noticed that occasionally mine wont go in. It’s a gear meshing issue. Sometimes just rolling back or forward isn’t enough, you need some steering input too.
I dont think that this is related to temperature. Try doing it on a slope so that the car can roll. Slowly allow it to roll forward or back whilst putting some pressure on the shifter and giving some steering input. I think it will work.
