Like most of us I guess, we have an IA tool roll handily placed under the driver's seat.

Firstly, I had a look to see what it contains...

Answer, not much! A T25 key, a few spanners (Not sure where a 10, 13 and 17mm spanner would be used) a very cheap pair of pliers and a double ended screwdriver which would only be of use to change the air filter.
An extendable wheel wrench and jack handle would be of use, so that's good.

Main point of my post... The roll actually just fits in the void beside the jack. You have to repack and adjust a few times. We are all a bit short on interior space, so I was quite pleased with this discovery.

The picture doesn't show much, but you can just make out the roll.

Edited to add a couple of arrows showing where the roll now lives

For those in North America.. spanner=wrench in case you were wondering.

Has anyone figured out what the specific use/case is for the larger closed-end spanner? It has a fairly large offset. Is it for anything I can't do with a ratchet and a deep socket?

p.s. - We never got the middle sized wrench - the dual-ended 10mm pictured above. 😞

Is it not for putting the transfer box into neutral?
IDK, but that sounds like…”Winner, winner chicken dinner”😂😂

If everything wasn’t so covered in pollen right now, I’d crawl under and check for ya’ll🤙🏻

I use the big Nakatanenga one for years in my Defender and the leather one, for romantic purposes, for my Series 2a.

I was wondering if that was the case but it does have different ends.
I was under there today and forgot to check.

Basically I'm wondering if I can ditch it and use a ratchet and deep socket.
I think you could easily replace with a ratchet. Here is the ring spanner attached to the transfer box bolt

Thanks! I gave it a try with the tools I had planned to carry.
I/2" drive ratchett, a 2-1/2" extension, and a 13mm standard socket.
The extension isn't necessary if you're not planning on keeping your knuckles.
