I might look at putting a Kolpin hard case on the backside of the ladder.

I considered the Kolpin and similar as well. The downside for me is that (1) it looks like a rifle and (2) it needs to be mounted with the barrel pointing down to be relatively easy to use.

My idea now is to get an peli case, rip out the interior and mount two Railblaza gun holders per rifle (one low at the stock and one high at the barrel), and put two rifles per case. Then mount the case vertically in the rear window MOLLEs. One per side. That would hold 4 rifles, which is normally enough.

I'm trying to figure out the best overhead locking mount to hold an AR-15 on the headliner behind the first row seats (driver / passenger) without drilling through the headliner, if possible. Ideal would prevent the rifle being disassembled (we had one stolen this way when I was in the USBP), so it would need a hard shield to enclose the lower receiver to prevent access to the take-down pins. I'd like to figure out a momentary switch / solenoid like I had in my patrol truck. TufLoc has some, but not exactly what I'm looking for:

Taking mine for hunting trips quite frequently. Also thinking about installing a roof tent in order to be more flexible when visiting simulated game competitions. Traveling with a dog can be a pain somethimes, particularly in Denmark (where I would like to go more often for simulated game shooting).

Hoping to take my Trialmaster out for some real exercise in March.

Feral pigs in New South Wales, I left the one I shot where it fell. By the next morning most of it had been devoured by foxes (I shot one of them too) and by the third day not even a bone remained, I wish our local council could clean things up that quickly!

As you can see they knew I was there but couldn't care less and one paid the price, now if I'd had Blaser....

Hi everyone. ShootingCar here. I grew up hunting big game with my late father on trips to Alaska, Africa, Wyoming and Montana. Here’s some photos of some of my dad’s vintage hunting kit and an express rifle with my Land Rover.
I since became a bird hunter in Wisconsin and now in Arizona. I have a Gordon Setter and collect and hunt with vintage English Double Barrel Shotguns.
I also like to fly fish for trout.
I’m replacing the Land Rover with a Grenadier as my new Shooting Car to get there and get back in the same day. Not because of breakdowns but speed.

I’m not a hunter, but I do a fair bit of pistol shooting. I came across this podcast and found it interesting enough to share. Seems the designer of the Grenadier is a shooting sportsman and I loved his insight to the Grenadiers development. His comparison of the Grenadier to his shooting dog was inspiring. I’m not English, but this window into the English hunting culture I thought was fascinating. I live in busy urban Southern California which is far removed from this type of culture.

I inherited an old "teach yourself fishing" book from my father. In the section about trout fishing it explains the tiers of expertise, flies being at the top. Then it goes on to say:
"The lowest depths of degradation are, however, reserved for he who confesses to fishing with the worm"

I used my winch last Sunday to help me with a chore too. The short length of the spooled line surprised me. I read that it was short. I just didn’t think it was that short, however, I did like the speed of the winch very much.

Just catching up on some older threads. Glad to hear about and see you shooting a proper SxS. I have a few and enjoy shooting them but mostly at clay targets. Favorite is my Stephen Grant side lever hammer gun with original 32" fluid steel barrels. I also have an interesting Damascus barrel 12ga under lever hammer gun fitted with Briley 20ga tubes since the original barrel is pitted, it is a Harris Holland, built in the trade before Harris brought his nephew Henry on board and became Holland and Holland.

I'm currently having a box built similar to a truckvault wide enough to hold a couple of shotgun takedown cases.

Sako 85 Varmint - got one and love it in .222. S20 coming soon in .243 or .270 depending on what might depart the cabinet.
