The Grenadier Wave

Sorry if this has been said.
How about an upside down “V” to match the A?

I had a wave from a Defender yesterday (a real Defender I mean, pre-16), I was a bit taken aback actually and didn’t have the time to return it. Not sure if he thought I was in a Defender or if he recognised it as a Grenadier and the spiritual successor to his car.

Now I worry he assumes all Grenadier owners are aloof and unfriendly types. I will pay more attention in future.

I will always wave at an IG and I’ll return a wave to anyone.

In fairness the diesels aren’t that great either 🤔

400 miles to my first tank.
I had a very friendly V sign and a flash of the lights from a Defender driver in Northern Botswana a couple of days ago. The driver clearly knew about Grenadiers. 😎

Well well, a G Wagon driver gave me the thumbs up the other day...was he experiencing a mistaken identity or just liking the vehicle...I returned the gesture...good on him. (y)
Does the thumbs up mean what it does here or in Italy??? :)

I generally get a thumbs up from people driving a wide range of cars.

It is kind of amazing. It seems that 95% of people don’t even notice it, 4% give it a head tilt as in what-is-that(?), and 1% act like they’ve seen the second coming of Christ and end up trying to have a conversation while driving. Which is really hard because unless they are in a TALL SUV, you can’t even see them…

I understand...I had one Land Rover Old Defender driver stop right beside me facing the other direction, he started up a conversation...fantastic, then the lights changed...thumbs up and see you later (y)

I followed a donny gray for about 100+km on the weekend. Well decked out with 270 awning and roof top camper.

Finally got back to civilization and passed them quickly in traffic, then as I turned off the highway they passed me.

I thought about the very cool Grenadier wave but as we passed each other we both waved crazily until our forearms nearly fell off.
😂😂😂😂😉😉

Wasn't @DaveB in Brisbane with his Donny Grey Grenadier recently?
