Hit me up if you want any other recs. We were there for two months - lots of hiking and climbing in the J.A. and lots of open-water swimming in Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj.
Cheers mate
A dot point list of highlight/must dos would be fantastic - try and fit stuff around our trek itinerary
Cheers

I have a when camping arrangement
Morning to afternoon, Hahn 3.5 - low cal not too fattending, good for hydration, not getting too messy on this.
Afternoon (late), VB - good drink in the heat, am over the light stuff.
Evening, G&T - am now sick of beer and it‘s time to really relax.
Night, rum and ginger beer - time to get loose.

I just know some will disagree with the VB.

Me for one!
Aged 15 a mate invited me over for a night of music and vids. His wealthy parents had this den fridge stocked with large cans of VB.
We drank too much , and drove the porcelain bus as a result.
Since then , no VB...
My order: a rehydration ale , a G&T and then some wine.

nor a driving beer
Since a thread like this naturally tends to come down to "mine is the longest", I have the ultimate driving beer for you. I've never tried it. And I'm not sure it's It is even "Reinheitsgebot" compliant, they say. And it is German. Of course. ;)

One bottle - 40 ml - costs well 30 euros. 🥳

EDIT: found out it is "Reinheitsgebot" compliant.

@Jean Mercier tried some belgian ones .. w/o hangover next day.. but anyway my relation to beer and alcoholic beverages is extremely thin.
Usually one pint a month or less. Same with wine, - and spirits. Even if I posesses a whole collection of Danish

What I tried one in the Netherlands is La Chouffe from Ardennes.. thats quite tasty. But again - one bottle - thats ist. (even if I not near anything that prohibits consumption of alcoholic such as driving or arms.. ) -

If I remember good tasting beers then its a rather hops stuff like the Jever in Germany, or rather malty like the Chouffe. or - perhaps Sam Adams Boston Lager,
or the Mexican Dos Equis XX Amber. The latter two are easy to purchase in a store... only online.

The advantage of beer / that can be taken in a cooler box and consumed in the middle of nowhere - before you go into the tent after a long ride..
Espresso requires significant more effort.

But I kept mine on topic n the coopers stout
Top was rock sliders and if you read my comment you will see that's what I was talking about
I thought it was a post about beer with a joke about sliders....

Speaking of which, sliders in North America are little burgers, and they're great

By the way, the beer thread seems to be quite interesting. At least Google thinks so
(Or Google thinks that everything mixing the words Grenadier and beer is interesting for me 🤔

The fruit beers are not my favourite.
Pear being a type of fruit.
So, this was a serious remark? I am surprised (grin).
I agree completely, I don't like at all the sweet fruit beers.

There are exceptions though, I like some of the sour fruit beers:
