Americas SPARE TIRE COVER - PAINTING

I personally like the fact the tire is flipped the way it comes for two reasons.
1) The main weight of the tire is closer to the door, which puts less stress on the mount, door and hinges.
2) The storage area created with the storage compartment is perfect for keeping a few light weight items in.
To each their own, just my preference. DaBull

Thanks much DaBull. Some members of our community voice the same concerns. I'm going back and forth. :)

Not painting, but replacing. Opus will be getting a new ride.

Very nice!!! :) :)

Where did you order the cover?
https://www.customtirecovers.com/ ---BUT--- it was from a coffee mug I got from https://www.berkeleybreathed.com/ where you can buy all sorts of Bloom County related stuff. It looks like the mug is no longer available though. 😠

On a whim I emailed them and asked for permission to make a spare tire cover, possibly buying a single use rights to the image. They loved the idea and let me do it for free! Sometimes it pays off to just ask rather than steal something. You know... be nice! ;)

Anyway, I took a high res picture of the mug art and custom ordered a cover. I think it was about $250. It's 5 years old and has held up well.

Lights dabs of acetone then magic eraser to clean it up.
I still need to even it up a bit.
