I think I might be looking to buy a used spare tire lock box. If anyone is selling let me know. (I am not interested in the rest of a Grenadier attached to a spare tire lock box....just the lock box. HaHa Thought I would proactively throw that out there.).

So I originally purchased 18" Steel wheel option with Grenadier. the original spare tire cover is fixed by a center Torx screw, and seemed to work OK. I just installed a set of 18" INEOS 18" Alloy wheels. The cover for whatever reason now seems to not fit flat anymore. Looks like a Taco. OK maybe not that bad but has a gap 1/16" at top and at bottom so when I close the rear door it kinda flaps. Yes I am Anal can you tell!! Inside this cover, are large tabs spaced at about 16" ?? Not sure, but they are laying against air, because 16" is not even close to 18."

I called the dealer to see if maybe INEOS used different covers for different size wheels. They say NO!

It appears (correct me if I am wrong) the "locking storage cover" bolts/screws solid to the hub of the wheel and is not just hanging on by a single Torx screw? If so, I felt that might be a fix.

I have been sleepless, can't eat....it even was cold and rainy in Arizona since this happened....for the good of mankind, I must find an answer! Ideas (Relevant to the Grenadier please)

They ultimately attach the same way to the rim, three screws. The difference being the "cover" attaches to piece with a post with a single screw. The lock box connects directly with three screws.

All that said the lock box might not do what annoys you with the cover. I have both the cover and the lock box, but 17" rims not 18". Let me know if I can answer any questions.

Also good luck finding one used. Took me a year.

Hey thanks. Spoke with the Service Manager at an Outdoor Expo today here in Arizona. I have a hunch that the tire shop (when I had the tires moved from the Steels to the Alloy might have thought that the cover snapped on. They might have grabbed the top and bottom and pulled outward not understanding that there is a screw under the plastic "A" plate in the middle. It seems the cover is warped outward at the top and bottom. I plan on trying to flatten the cover. Should be easy here when it gets warm out. 2nd thought is to buy a tire relocation mount from OWL Vans. That would do away with the cover and turn the wheel around so I can see it in all it's beauty as I approach from the rear. Thank You for input.

If you want a really pretty Tire relocation and 180 Degree flip so it faces outward the Agile Offroad is very sexy.

Didn’t like the look or quality of the plastic stock cover… flipped the wheel with the Agile kit and can now more easily check spare tire pressure. Plus less risk of scratching the face of the wheel trying to put it back on the mount when you are struggling on your own to lift it.

I have the Owl bracket for my winter wheels and snow tires and use the storage compartment rest of the year when I have my OEM steelies on; I like the adjustability and the hanger rod (makes it easier for 1 person) of the Owl bracket. But yeah, the Agile one looks great and very high quality - as far as I can tell, they’re just using the one from Blacksheep Innovations in Switzerland. Maybe I’m wrong - but they look identical to me.

Just as a side note, Tasmania was geographically (and now proven geologically) once part of the world that is now Arizona.
We can shake hands over that , even though it has bugger all to do with spare wheels!

So you guys also have dysfunctional elections and build golf courses where they don’t belong?
Probably "Yes"to both, depending on one's 'proclivities'...
And for those avid golfers undertaking "the big lap" of the country: .... The Nullabor Links
"The 18-hole par 72 golf course spans 1,365 kilometres with one hole in each participating town or roadhouse along the Eyre Highway, from Kalgoorlie in Western Australia to Ceduna in South Australia. Each hole includes a green and tee and somewhat rugged outback-style natural terrain fairway. The course provides a quintessential Australian experience and a much-needed activity/attraction for travellers along the renowned desolate highway."

Wow - looks very clean, any miles on it?
