Just spoke to my dealer about this. According to Ineos, "by design", some air comes into the vents that bypasses the heater core when you have it on ONLY face vent. If you split it with the feet, I believe that does not happen.lack of communication from Ineos to address customer issues. This sentiment is indirectly cemented when dealers also can not comprehend various issues. E.g. HVAC face vents blowing lukewarm air “its working as designed”

IslandFalconer, it is quite possible that you have the absolute worst built Grenadier on the planet. If I scroll through your messages, virtually every thing that can go wrong has gone wrong with your Grenadier. Coincidentally, I believe you have had just as many things go wrong with the loaner that Ineos provided you, also. It’s both, the dealer is not competent, and there’s no way to get recourse from Ineos, they simply do not speak to customers beyond the customer service agents who send an email to the dealership. So there is no way to hold anyone accountable. Ineos is not doing much when it comes to end users. As has been said they are happy to expand to China, and market new paint and trim. But when it comes to resolving issues they are absent
I’ve noticed this also. I just assumed that air remained ahead of the heater core and when the fans are activated, the lines are simply being cleared. I run on Auto, as I do all my cars. I have no complaints - but it is a quirky temperature setting methodology. I kinda dig it.Just spoke to my dealer about this. Odd, but ok, I guess.
Actually the only problem with the loaner was the battery. Otherwise pretty solid.IslandFalconer, it is quite possible that you have the absolute worst built Grenadier on the planet. Below is a partial list of defects that you posted months ago. Since then, I believe at least 20-30 other deficiencies have been identified.
A/C Water on floor driver/passenger side
A/C not cooling above 20C outdoor temp
Auto start stop fails to re start engine - ( I believe this one almost killed you?)
Wiper Nozzles spray under windscreen
Door Handles all stick won’t latch
Door Seals falling off
Rear Gate handle broke off
CarPlay Lag, Disconnect, failure
Park Brake Lever stitching coming out
MIL if you fill the tank
Rear Body Trim fell off
AEB red warning all the time
Rear Wiper stoped working
ADAS (Annoying as all F$&@) - (every 2024/25 car is suffering similar complaints)
Can’t reset service indicator - (again every new 2024/25 car)
Can you bring us up to date on all the new issues? It would be good to have a running list of what’s breaking and what’s getting fixed.

"We" are forced to endure these nanny issues because everyone is more focused on shaving, applying makeup, eating a meal and drinking concurrently, reading, watching the latest show they missed the night before on either their built in device or hand held, name it ... AND NOT driving their car. People are of the mentality of "I can multitasking" better than the driver next to me!! Safety people have mandated these things in the name of "safer driving" - we don't need safer driving, we simply need people paying attention to their driving. These safety things just empower people to do more stupid stuff!! I humbly don't think you are a dinosaur for I am not one either .I just want my car/truck to leave me alone and let me drive how I want to. Seems most everyone else is heading towards wanting the car/truck to drive for them. I think I am a dinosaur.
Great post and some great points. It's funny how the advent of the automatic dishwasher in the home didn't reduce the home makers work load, it just meant they must have more time to complete other household chores."We" are forced to endure these nanny issues because everyone is more focused on shaving, applying makeup, eating a meal and drinking concurrently, reading, watching the latest show they missed the night before on either their built in device or hand held, name it ... The update is basically “Please wait” maybe by end of first Quarter per my dealership. But we all know how that goesNot going to read 16 pages to figure out where this thread went off topic but I'm here to talk about the software update that was supposed to come out in July 2024. 7 months later has there been an update?
There was never actually a July release date; one dealership in Texas decided to tell customers there would be one, and it started this whole mess. Not going to read 16 pages to figure out where this thread went off topic but I'm here to talk about the software update that was supposed to come out in July 2024. 7 months later has there been an update?
I spoke with Greg before his resignation and he did assure me an update would be available, but there was no firm timelineThere was never actually a July release date; one dealership in Texas decided to tell customers there would be one, and it started this whole mess.
The Ineos CEO stated on a podcast at the LA Auto show that they were going to allow it to be turned off in North America, but nothing further officially than that.
If I were guessing, I would think that some vehicles get an update sometime in Q2 of this year; as always, definitely do not hold your breath. The reason I say some vehicles is the same reason why the CEL (fuel level) fix is not available for all MY24 vehicles
It’s simply because this group knows from experience not to get their hopes up. As @anand said, there was one dealer who got a little excited last year and then the rumor mill got going. Lesson learned for all of us is “it’s here when it’s here.” I had mine in for 1 year service in Chicago last week, and they wisely said “we hear rumors of end of Q1 but who knows.” And even then, who knows which VIN’s it covers. Anyhow - this thread will drift because the forum members learned there’s no point - until they hear a confirmed case of a software update or receive an official communication. Not going to read 16 pages to figure out where this thread went off topic but I'm here to talk about the software update that was supposed to come out in July 2024. 7 months later has there been an update?
I'm guessing 4/1, not because it's April fools day, but because I'm making the treck to the service department the week before. This thread, "software update coming in 60 days for North America" was started on June 15, 2024. Sixty days was August 14, 2024.
So, probably any minute now. Yup. Any minute. I can just feel it.
Please make sure to make the trip extra miserable - that will help ensure the update comes the following week. Flat tire, an eagle snatches a lug nut while you’re changing it, you climb the tree up to its eyrie only to find a bear cub up there, and its mama is waiting at the bottom when you want to come down, so you have to spend the next 3 days lashed to a branch during the storm of the century. You know - the usual.I'm guessing 4/1, not because it's April fools day, but because I'm making the treck to the service department the week before.
I like this fusion of "trek" and "dreck"!I'm guessing 4/1, not because it's April fools day, but because I'm making the treck to the service department the week before.
