Just remembering the era when people had those green sunstrips, furry dice, sheepskin steering wheel covers and spent hours trying to extract the stuck tape on the C90 from the cassette player.
Furry dice — man those were everywhere! If we’re talking 80s, we have to mention — huge hair, Aquanet hair spray, regrettable fashion, metal bands with videos that make you snicker a little now, some really bad music at times…..until grunge came along and started another era.

And the cassette player — I’m remembering the ridiculous amount of cassettes I had omg! Took me forever to throw away.

I looked at a lot of seat cover options — from simple to the completely custom. Decided to go more simple for now to see if that was all that was needed.

I loooove these! Yes, they could be deemed a little frou frou, but personally I like a little frou thrown in with the rugged. Okay fine, I like a lot of frou on the side but this is the only frou I’m allowing in my Grenadier.

These fit perfectly and don’t slide around!

I wouldn't be the least bit embarrassed to have those seat covers in our Grenadier. They look quite comfy for long road trips. Just say FU to all the testosterone that surrounds these vehicles and have some fun.😸

The 1980's were little more than a kitschy send-up of the 1950's but you're likely too young to remember that.

We have some sheep skins that we sometimes throw over the leather couch. They are comfortable and warm in wintertime. But I agree, what you displayed are frou-frou for a truck.

That last sentence — yep exactly, thank you for saying that! When I joined and started posting, I knew this forum was probably very light on the female side and I wondered if my posts would annoy certain people.

And I don’t care — I can only be me and I’m not going to edit myself to avoid the possibility of some guy being irritated that I’m not more of a guy. That’s why I posted my sort of frou frou seat covers — I love them, I love them in MY Grenadier, and maybe someone else will love and want them.

And at the end of the day, whatever someone puts in/does with their Grenadier — good for you, enjoy! Quid pro quo gents!

I agree! The only thing I question is your going out to dinner in Dillon. That's hard for me to imagine. It's a great little town and the people are friendly, but I remember when all the food there came in one color only - brown!

All brown food is definitely suspect. Did you watch Game of Thrones? One of my favorite scenes is when Samwell is a maester apprentice at the Citadel. He has the lowliest job of serving the maesters’ meals — which are all brown. Then he also has the job of collecting bedpans of the sick maesters — the contents of which are all brown and look exactly like the meals he serves; he also has to clean out the bathroom stalls — also containing the brown contents which look exactly like the meals. He’s constantly gagging over these tasks and it’s hilarious. I can’t do it justice but it was a great scene by the show runners.

I actually like the sheepskin seat covers, I did look but could find any I liked when I looked about. More recently I have been looking again for some for my other vehicle for winter.

Personally I would draw the line at the pink camo ones, but whatever floats your boat.

The one thing about the sheep skin covers are they are lovely and warm and I believe quite cooling in summer, I am sure one of the Aussies here will correct me if I have misunderstood that.

Whilst reminiscing about the 80’s who remembers (prob most of us here) the built in cassette draws in cars that had the little window that turned red if there was a cassette in the draw, oh the good old days.

Only saw some of the first season and then kinda lost interest. Guess I'm pretty squarely in the "Rings" camp. But the joke wouldn't have been lost on me - GIGO. Plus every school kid has compared his cafeteria meal to other brown things. I'm reminded of a great throwaway line in Python's Holy Grail...

I also had sheepskins in my Defender. Not the moulded ones from the shop, though, but the original ones straight from the sheep farmer. I then attached them with trouser braces. The disadvantage, however, was that the skin came off over the years and got stuck in the Defender seats (original techno upholstery). It was quite a job to clean the seats again.
At times I even had a wild boar rind on the seat. That was a bit more robust and not unpleasant.
