Servicing

hi,

regarding maintenance, do you know what maintenance intervals are foreseen? km/hours work.

engine, axles, gearbox, transfer case....

Currently the bosh car services have not been activated in Italy. The assistance has been delegated to the dealers who deliver the vehicle.

Back in March my dealer mentioned around $5-600 for a basic service so I'd expect 1k for a 2yr 40k. I asked about the Bosch centres but got a shoulder shrug. I'd say it wouldn't be a priority for Ineos, letting dealers get the servicing business where possible. Those that don't have a dealer nearby could maybe find a specialist BMW mechanic. Warranty would still be valid, under AU rules anyway.

Anyone heard any news about the specifics of which entities will be sales and service in the USA? It's still crickets, when this info was promised months ago before orders opened up.

It was all on the site for a few days, and was taken down this afternoon (some of their numbers were not the correct contact number), but the full list is posted in at least one other thread on here.

Edit: Here's the link https://www.theineosforum.com/threads/any-word-yet.12412805/#post-1333202738

Jeez, who is running the mothership?

First the wrong phone numbers, then a totally incomplete list which is well overdue (still missing Seattle WA, probably others....certainly the Remote Service locations like Sacramento);

Doesn't inspire much confidence in the organization, especially when complex vehicles are the end product.

A mix of UK and US attempting to find balance is where I think the website issues are coming from, since most (or all) of the backend is done in the UK, but the faces are in the US.

Can't accept that as an excuse. UK runs the show, they run the USA site too. Faces in the USA are byproducts.

Today a new message on my screen, going on and off while driving, very annoying!

And don't tell me I don't have petrol anymore, I saw it!

Today I called my dealer, because of this:

See the "overdue" and the "refill".

And also because of this:

Ooh, I still can drive 714 km while "2 days" overdue, ... hmmmm

[EDITED]I have less than 15000 km on the ODO reader.

Therefore I called my dealer to ask for a service appointment, and what did he say:

"The maintenance schedule is 20000 km, so you can wait, unless you are doing mainly off road, then it is 7500 km!"
"If you you want, you wait for the 20000 km, otherwise we reset your computer to 20000 km to avoid the warning"
I told them to reset the computer, but perhaps was too fast, I did some off road, probably less than 100km.
And the "infotainment warning" pops up that soon that perhaps they should reset it to 25000 km maintenance schedule to be able to drive without warning!

Hmmmm, not happy with my dealer, they don't know anything about 4x4 cars!

Not happy with Ineos either: they don't inform correctly the dealers I guess!

[edited] and concerning the oil level check ...

The oil level check should be performed this way:
  • Vehicle must be stationary
  • On even level
  • Transmission in N or P
  • Accelerator pedal not depressed
  • And motor "running" (not shown in the instructions!)

These instructions should also be shown also on other screen warnings, like when the motor isn't running:

"Measurement aborted? .... Please check vehicle conditions"?"

Why doesn't Ineos just say:

The check can't be performed. Oil level check should be performed this way:
  • Vehicle must be stationary
  • On even level
  • Transmission in N or P
  • Accelerator pedal not depressed
  • And motor "running" (not shown in the instructions!)
"Check vehicle conditions" is not informative enough!

25,000 kms between services seems crazy high to me.
