Quite a few people in here have early M1’s and paying the same £190, in another thread somewhere

Not sure how it works but a mate of mine with M1 station wagon paying full whack.

Yep mine is a a 5 seat SW too, not a utility with glass in the back. Perhaps just an oddity in how early ones were registered I guess. No complaints though!

Mines a two seat utility with glass in the back. My view was that if it looks like a station wagon then I can follow the speed limits for station wagons and not commercial vehicles and less likely to get caught. As technically it’s 60mph on dual carriageway and 50mph on single carriageway for commercial vehicles over a certain weight. So far so good

Exactly was at the car garage fully expecting to pay the £600 , only paid the £190 , not sure if they have classed it as a commercial and don't have to pay that added luxury tax

Just checked , classed as a M1 but it is a older grenadier being registered in may 23

Yep. Mine too. Fieldmaster bought secondhand in Nov 2023, first registered 4th May 2023

Must be something to do with the earlier models maybe or just lucky

Yep, mine was registered June 23 I think, vin just over 2000

My commercial was £335 back in May.
Looks like some Ineos dealers didn’t tick the over £40k check box when registering some M1s

Wow I guess it could be something as simple as that. Maybe it was deliberate
