Question to our European and US friends: Do passengers comment/complain about the "hump" in the passenger footwell?
I saw a post from LHD country where the guy said his wife wouldn't ride in it because there was no room for her feet.
I thought.....damn that beatch must have some seriously large feet.

Or the Gren has an usually large, massive footrest hump??? I have seen a few posts like that - made me laugh! My wife LOVES the passenger seat and foot room... in the RHD version!!!

I think the main point he made was that it was a probably when wearing large boots, I have the same issue when I have to wear steel toe safety boots.
He also had to adjust his normal seating position higher than usual.
Correct on the boots - I wear steel caps all the time, mandatory left boot comes off when driving with such footwear!!

I have 3 or 4 Grens in my local area, and about 100+ 70 series... new ones too. On the flip side there is a stack of GWMs and LDVs driving around which are half trashed at 12 months of age!

I stopped in at my local mechanic today.
A very small shop next to his house in Toogoom.
He only does european vehicles, particularly Mercedes and BMW
He has been following the Grenadier but first time seeing one up close.
I was hoping to get him to service it in future but he had two problems.
  1. Space it would take up in his small shop if he had to wait more than a day or 2 for parts
  2. It ended up being too wide and too close to the weight limit for his hoists.
Damn shame because he is 1.5 kms from my home and when I told him it had the B57 engine, ZF box and Brembo brakes he was very impressed.

Don't need a hoist for the most part.

My wife has no complaints with the footrest (LHD). But she does complain at the size of the seat adjustment lever and says it contacts her leg and is bothersome on longer trips. She is 5’4” tall.

I keep my safety boots in the spare wheel and only put them on when needed and usually take them off before getting back in.
Sometimes however it is just a short drive to the next job and I leave them on.

My wife is 4'11" and shrinking but loves the seating.
she always says it is much better than that silly Mercedes thing you had.
