Moved my seats back but needed to put the guard back for the dog, intention was to make new brackets but found I could do it easily with the existing brackets and some 8mm bolts, nuts and washers.
Drilled out the threaded top fixings on the guard to 8.5mm to remove the thread allowing an 8mm x 70mm bolt to pass through. Ran the nuts / washers up the bolt to give room to thread into original fixing.
Once both bolts threaded into fixings locked in place with the nuts. ( don't use lock nuts)
Removed the side lashing points, offered up the original brackets spacing them off with some washers, allowing them to be positioned vertically.
Measured how far away the fixing hole was away from the bracket, removed and bent accordingly. In a vice with a rubber mallet.
Reinstalled using washers as spacers bolted together with lashing fixing plate on top.
Materials used:
8mm x 70mm Bolts x2
8mm x 40 mm Bolts x2
About 30. 8mm washers.
Note: If you intend to move the seats good idea to have and additional T50 security Torx socket, as bust mine half way through the job.
