I'm looking online for lights to fit to my roof rack for use when camping, not driving, but am finding it very difficult to choose between all the options that come up during internet searches. Lots are also manufactured in the USA, or Oz, etc, and hence there's additional costs added if bought into the UK. Without seeing them working first hand, it's also hard to know what 'brightness' is needed, and every brand tells you that theirs is 'the best'.

Hence can anyone in the UK give me their recommendations for two small lights that give good illumination when you're simply sat outside manning a fire / setting up a tent / eating / chilling? I'm not trying to be seen from space or illuminate the valley below. One will be mounted on the left side, and the other off the rear., and are intended to be used at the same time. I have a strong preference for lights that are sold in UK and don't carry a premium for being shipped across the world. Thanks in advance!

Try Wilderness lighting. They do small rock lights as a set which you can mount pretty much anywhere, there’s also a multi coloured option. They also do what they call scene lighting which has a very wide spread, might be a bit harsh for sitting by the fire but they are great as reversing lights or for camp setup. I have some of the scene lights on our tractors and also had some on my old defender.

I mounted these on the side of my roof rack and the are very nice. I imported them from Europe via bison gear.
