Installing footwell LED lights direct to ignition?

As pretty much every owner knows - the interior of the Gren is very dark while driving at night. I had a local company quote about $300 to install some basic LED lighting in the front & rear footwells for a little bit of illumination, and can wire them directly to the ignition so they automatically turn on/off.....just curious if anyone else has done this? I've looked online and haven't found any posts or photos of anyone doing this (which seems odd) - besides the key hole modification that I've seen on the forum....

I understand a lot of owners probably just don't care or want to add any interior lights, but just curious if I should be weary of doing this for any reason? The company is very reputable and does it all the time on other more expensive vehicles, just curious if I should stay away from having a company do something like this on the Gren?

Thanks for any info.

I am by no means an automotive electrician, but created a wiring harness for the USB ports and the LED lights. The LED lights came with a 12 volt plug that I pulled off and wired into this harness. I added a plug to INT 2 rather than going wire to wire in case I wanted to change things up. The bare wires are for the LEDs prior to finishing up the harness.

Also are some shots of the front footwells I took this morning. It was daylight so have the brightness turned all the way up. I normally keep them under 10% and are only noticeable at night.
