I just got an email that not only will Southwest Airlines codeshare partner with Icelandair in 2025, but that their new interior configurations will include RECARO SEATS! Something feels wrong about Recaro causing the factory back-up. With a deal like this in the works, it strikes me as a bit odd that Recaro would be in that much fiscal trouble. Anyway, for what it’s worth, this came out on 12/16:

Recaro is broken up into different divisions/separate companies. Recaro airline is different than Recaro Germany which is different than Recaro America.

It's a long story, in short the original company was around pre WW1 and eventually the family rift meant they sold off the automotive, airline, gaming and kids cars seats separately to a variety of companies.

As above, they have nothing in common apart from the badge name.

Now we know. Thanks for the clarification!
