Wondering if anyone has had their rear seat back stuck open after pulling the release strap, and what you can do to fix. As of now, seat back won’t latch in the upright position.

I have seat covers, but as far as I can tell, the area is completely unobstructed. The pull strap seems to be stuck in the pulled position - so the seat goes back all the way, but doesn’t have the metal come back around to lock it into place.

You may need to push the seat back into the lock position with "sharpish" movement ... Not a "slam"...

Hi I have the same issue but I did not read this post before. I closed the seat with a slam and now it is stuck, with the tab pulled up (in the release position) but the seat back won’t go forward.

Any ideas?

In my case, the rear seat could no longer be locked into place and the textile flap felt loose. In the end, I removed the rear seat latch. The rigid extension of the textile strap had slipped out of the eyelet (it's just stuck in there - red circle in the picture)
The removal is a bit tricky because you have to remove some of the upholstery - but it can be done without leaving any marks.
I hope the pictures help with the solution / to understand the problem.

Thanks. I suspect that is what has happened. My challenge is that I then closed the seat and the latch closed, now it won’t unlatch. I think I’ll take it to the dealer to sort out as one can’t undo those bolts with the seat closed.
