Apparently one of our Forum members has informed us that Lockheed Martin, who owns the US trademark to the name "Skunk Works" applied to a Design Team, has said NO to other groups of people using said name. Therefore it is not wise for us to describe this portion of the forum as the Skunk Works any longer.

Being a huge fan of the Lockheed Martin Skunk Works and their tremendous history of world-changing aircraft development, I will suppress my disappointment. Instead I take it as a compliment that Lockheed Martin recognizes our tremendous abilities and the potential for our ragtag team of designers spread around the world to be confused with their engineering department.

So we will be changing the name of this portion of the Forum. It is not exactly a well used corner of the theineosforum.com, but I am optimistic that we will grow it and it will eventually become a center for considerable product development and discussion of new solutions.

So let's hear it. What should we call this effort that we've launched as a global owner community? It is a group of people spread out around the planet who have collaborated on a dozen or so different ideas that are now becoming products for sale to owners via GrenadierWorks.com. It is working. We have made new things and solved our own problems and caused those things to be available to anyone worldwide who wants to buy them. And most importantly it's been fun.

What shall we call it, since it won't be Skunk Works?

I've given my brain all of about 6 minutes to ponder this one... For some reason it sounds a bit French to me

I was lazy, threw idea into co pilot. Gave it some guidance. Two names popped out that I like Assemblage Architect but my favorite Gritworks

How about the “Grengineers” or “Grengineers Group”? I also think using the name “Grenadier Works Group” helps reinforce the notion ideas discussed in this part of the forum could potentially be made available for sale on the website and helps tie the two together… product development and sales?

Good ideas are turned into products. How about GRENIDEA or GRENIDEAS.

We also put the finishing touches to our Grenadiers with our products. So GRENFINISH would be fitting.

This gets my vote… genius!
Great name but already a bit of a conflict

Although it’s good to see us as the 4’th hit.

As a bit of a follow up to @BenTN ’s original post. I have been contacted regarding the ownership of “Skunk Works” and politely asked to rename.

Weather it’s flattering or scary to have that level of interest I’m not sure.
