What type of plastic is the raised air intake made of? Mine was damaged going through a car wash. The tube cracked at the seam and I'm looking for an adhesive that can fuse the plastic together. Any ideas? Thank you.

Many (most) plastic air intakes are ABS or LDPE. But please check with the dealer!!! In either case try the Permabond products of you can get it.

I'm surprised no one has come out something to replace that piece of crap. I'm worried a bird strike will snap it in half.

It is made from polypropylene, which means bonding is not really possible, but welding.
Is it actually Polyprop??? That is one of the crappiest materials to use for external plastics - weak, low flexural strength, prone to cracking, and even with modified additives it is crap in UV. Surely, they didn't make this intake from PP... then again, it's the cheapest plastic there is.
