Raised Air Intake Precleaner - just wondering if anyone has the precleaner. Is it easy to remove and can it stay off until needed for remote travel i.e. Do you get the normal top to the raised air intake?

Any chance you have a picture you could share? My grenadier is 13 months old done 60000km and have had the top spin fitted all the time. Last week noticed that it was lopsided all of a sudden and found a split along the seam of the raised intake section the top spin is fitted to. Have cable tied it closed and silastic along the seam and will drop into a dealer soon regarding a warranty claim.
Sounds like a reinforcing band might be in order. My grenadier is 13 months old done 60000km and have had the top spin fitted all the time. Unfortunate. Talking down the brand might make you feel better but it won't help to get a resolution. But I understand your frustration.Yesterday i had to take my grenadier to get the front & rear pinion flange seals replaced. Have ordered ARB diff breathers which according to one American expert is the only fix to stop it happening again.
So while i was there i showed them the snorkel issue. Was advised when i picked it up that the raised air intake was not a warranty issue as i had hit something. I’m now getting further information together to counter this claim. In the meantime i wont hesitate pointing out the problem to the many people that enquire regarding the vehicle every time i pull up somewhere.
Will keep you informed.
I have complained a number of times re the raised air intake with pre cleaner. There has been no response other than a ‘re-fit’ of the existing setup, each time it comes apart. IMO, the unit is too heavy for the flimsy plastic the intake tube is constructed of. Just using it in a suburban situation on good sealed roads, movement of the pre cleaner causes the tubing to move and flex and part where it enters the front RH gaurd. There is no way it would survive a five minute drive on severe corrugations.Yesterday i had to take my grenadier to get the front & rear pinion flange seals replaced. yep. same here. pinion seals have blown, likely due to design fault with OEM one way valves. Will fit the ARB kit when got it back hopefully next week. though also now have permanent off-road error so might take a while to diagnose. Would recommend a diff breather kit install to all regardless of regular driving conditions.Yesterday i had to take my grenadier to get the front & rear pinion flange seals replaced. Yes, I am well aware of that, but their specs are not as good…. But my main beef is that this setup is specified by Ineos and therefore should “be fit for purpose”….. but it isn’t.You can get a smaller Donaldson top that puts less strain on the intake. Check out their webste
