PRODUCTION IS BACK ON FOR INEOS AUTOMOTIVE

  • Grenadiers and Quartermasters will restart production from early January 2025 after critical supply shortage resolved.
  • “It’s great news that a solution has been found so quickly,” said Lynn Calder, CEO of INEOS Automotive. “Automotive supply chains are extremely complex but we were not willing to compromise on quality, so we are satisfied that we have found the best possible outcome.”
  • Sales now live in 50 countries globally, having added major new markets including Mexico and China.

London, 20 November 2024:
Having been forced to halt in September 2024 due to a critical component shortage, production of the INEOS Grenadier and Quartermaster will restart in early January 2025.

All partners have been informed and are ready to support resumption of operations at INEOS Automotive’s plant in Hambach.

“It’s great news that a solution has been found so quickly,” said Lynn Calder, CEO of INEOS Automotive. “Automotive supply chains are extremely complex but we were not willing to compromise on quality, so we are satisfied that we have found the best possible outcome.

“By this summer we had sold as many Grenadiers as we had for the whole of 2023, and are on track to have over 20,000 Grenadiers on the road before the end of this year. We now turn our attention to preparing Hambach to restart in early January and with significant growth in major new markets – including China and Mexico – and substantial expansion in the US, I believe 2025 is going to be our best year yet.”

“I'd like to give a huge thanks to our customers for their patience. We are happy to get back on track and look forward to handing them the keys to their Grenadiers asap.”

Don’t read anything into that - mine still says “in production” - and I picked it up a year and 12,000 miles ago.
That's even worse when production has stopped. Literally no way of knowing when they restart and actually build one's order

Awful lot of conjecture and plain fabrications written here. If you don’t actually know, don’t make it up. It’ll all come out in the wash

Why should folks stop now? I think @Krabby and @Stu_Barnes probably entertained “Conjecture and Plain Fabrication” as an alternative name for the Forum. Come to think of it, that sounds like a great book title . . . as an angler, it’s part of the art form, along with low visibility approach, matching the hatch, and the perfect presentation. “And it was thiiiiiiiiiis big, but got off the hook and jumped the net before I could get a picture.”

12 days of Christmas , a few days to check and oil the robots and get everyone up to speed again.
Nobody should have been worried 🫠
Full steam ahead!

I pose this question, will the seats continue to be called Recaro or switch names to new ownership? Plus when does Ineos run out of the old Recaro seats? I ask because my QM has Recaro imprinted in the seats. I looked at the Lobster build and you see he has Recaro seats.

Kirchheim, Germany, December 4th, 2024 – Proma Group has signed an investment agreement with Recaro Automotive GmbH in Germany to take over business and have begun the transition period. This investment will allow for operations to continue and relaunch across Europe in January 2025.

Proma Group will retain several employees from the original Sales and Technology departments at Recaro Automotive Germany which will be based in the Stuttgart region. This will ensure a more seamless transition of support to meet customer needs.

In January, aftermarket seats will be available on the market and OEM production will be transferred to Italy with the first seats entering production.

“Our investment in Recaro Automotive will strengthen our ability to deliver a premium seating product, while embracing the most cutting-edge innovations in the automotive sector,” says Luca Pino, CEO Proma Group. “The Recaro name is renowned throughout the world as a benchmark of German industrial technology, and Proma Group, a symbol of Italian manufacturing excellence, is excited about the future and the quality that will be expressed in the automotive market thanks to the union of two first-class companies”.

RECARO Automotive’s operations in North America and Japan are continuing to function as usual, providing the same high standard of products and service that Recaro Automotive customers in these regions have come to rely on.

Just me, but abandoning the ‘Recaro’ brand would be pretty dumb. The name may be one of the biggest assets. Who has heard of Proma seats? For seats it goes 1. Recaro 2. Baker Ejection seats and 3 may be some lawn furniture maker.

Who has heard of Proma seats?
No one.

Proma is working as partner to major automotive manufacturers around the world co-operating on development projects in hundreds vehicle platforms. The Group is rapidly expanding its operations and is already established in 4 continents and 7 countries.

So it's safe to say that all seats will have the Recaro name imprinted into the leather.

The seats have no adjustments. They could be labeled "Bob's Discount Furniture" for I care. I'm just pissed I'm stuck with them and can't put in good Scheel-Mann VarioXl's due to the fucking air bag location.
