I ordered my Grenadier in Nov ‘23,
Took delivery in Nov ‘24.

Almost 5 months in and 2,500 miles logged overall I’m quite happy with the purchase. Love the styling on the interior and exterior, really nice road presence behind the wheel.

My biggest complaint and hesitation to buy again if I could go back in time would be some of the “unadvertised” surprises that came with the vehicle. The ADAS system (and its associated warning lights) was a total blindside as the dealer demo ‘23 I drove prior to the purchase had no such system… and I have lost all hope to Ineos doing a software update to allow permanent disability of it.

Also not super stoked about the lack of end user ability to do simple things like resetting the service reminder warning- which sucks for a vehicle that doesn’t have a vast dealer network and was advertised as being a DIY friendly platform with regards to maintenance. So even though I plan on doing my own servicing I will have to either live with the obnoxious alerts- or take it to a dealership and shell out a couple hundred $$ to have it reset every year.

Really hoping an aftermarket scan type tool prevails to address that.

Overall though I still think its the coolest new vehicle on the market. It will likely be the last new car I ever purchase- so going to do my best to make it last.

Had mine for over a year and almost 16,000 miles. Absolutely love it - some things could be smoothed out (like heating/AC, software etc) - but I’m tired of fake - this is the real deal. It’s for discovering, or rediscovering, the adventures waiting out there for you. Use it for its intended purpose and get out there.

Day 1 reservation holder, production date delayed 4 months, and now 11 months and 23k miles into ownership...

Would I buy it again? At full MSRP and without any incentives (which is how it was purchased last year), unequivocally yes. It does everything it's supposed to. It is absolutely quirky, but I also prefer running beta releases on all my devices, so quirks are commonplace.

Will I buy another one? Most likely not, for no other reason other than I like to change up my vehicles much more frequently than is fiscally prudent and enjoy the process of building out a new vehicle.

We knew the brand, did not had any interest into buying one. Drove it last year in the summer (gasoline stationwagon), and fell in love.
It had been 9 years since our last Jeep, and my wife was not amused with the Jeeps interior and engine.

Then we asked for a QM diesel to test drive for a weekend, just to check how it was to live with on daily bases.

For us it just works, the few compromises it has on the road is something we totally understand because it's just a part of its appeal and off road performance.

Its not your run off the mill SUV, it's a solid axle ladder frame truck, designed for overlanding. Not for school runs.

We now have 8600km's on the QM's clock, we still love it. It's quirky, but in a very good way.
We had the luck of having had the car checked by a experienced German dealership extensively before delivery.

As for now not a single one of the issues as discussed on here, everything just works.

Ow no wait, dirty lies! The nato connector water ingress is something ours has and the parking brake switch needs to be less sensitive.
It switches off cruise control on bumps.
Nato connector was a easy diy fix, switch will need some adjustment.
As for ADAS, it's on every new car here in Europe. We leave it on because speeding fines are not funny anymore, lot of EU countries even have a driver license with points...

My wife has already mentioned wanting a station wagon herself in pink
She drives a hot hatch as daily, but let's say since we have the QM. Her car didn't drive alot anymore.

Don't let your misses see this thread then.

Just buy her a GME UHF radio. It has a matching pink aerial.

6mths in 11,000 miles driven uk to germany and uk to the alps. used everyday and for hunting on the weekends.

if i had the space i would probably buy a quartermaster as well

I won’t be buying another one but not because I don’t like it, I just want to keep my one. So I haven’t voted.
I’d buy a salvage title Grenadier, use it for spares, otherwise agree.

I haven’t done much yet with my grenadier. Started a build, did some sand driving but winter has just started to let up here. So I like it more than love it.

Im on the fence about if i’d buy it again in a hypothetical time traveling scenario. It’s mainly down to the company at this point. The whole ‘shop manual widely available’ sales pitch seems to have been a marketing lie. Ok, fine. But the company’s glacial pace of software updates is concerning as is the state of the software itself. Things like no ability to reset service intervals or tpms ourselves is going to make it hard for me to pretend this is a car I drive for 50k-100k+ miles. After all, a big part of the grenadier’s appeal is a simpler robust design which a moderately handy home mechanic can fix and maintain. That appeal is lost if we have to take it to a dealer (of which there are few) at least every year.

Otherwise the cars great. Its probably best as a project 4x4/utility wagon regularly taken on trails rather than a daily driver, but its fine if rather uneconomical doing that.

I love mine and plan on keeping it a long time. I am approaching 40,000 miles now.
Whilst I love the vehicle, I can’t say the same for INEOS themselves. The promised workshop manuals really matter to me and I suspect they will never come. Their parts availability in the UK is shockingly bad. I haven’t needed any major parts but the wait for accessories and minor parts is way too long. So its probably the same for major parts…
As an example. The raised air intake took 2 months to arrive. A new battery took 2 weeks. A set of rear wheel studs took 3 weeks. A new screen wash jet took 3 weeks and I am currently in week 3 waiting for a set of front wheel studs and a spare set of wheel nuts.. Most of these are basic items which should be on the shelf at the dealer. I know dealers for all manufacturers don’t keep many parts in stock but they are usually available within 24 hours. INEOS really need to sort this out.. I dread to think how long it might take to get a more major part, and the few people on here who have had accident damage seem to have waited a long time for panels..

Its a great car and when you consider that its a first attempt built from the ground up by a brand new manufacturer its a truly remarkable thing… But, after sales needs a lot of work. Maybe in other countries its different…

The only thing that annoys me is the drinking manners of this machine.
Also it’s not really a financial problem for me I just don’t like the idea of a not very efficient system. And I do not compare it to my normal cars with smaller engines and/or less drag.
It’s just a feeling that there are some unnecessary losses within the drivetrain that could be good for 1 or 2 litres/100km.
Besides that I can say that I still configure new Grenadiers on the homepage from time to time. I always end with the conclusion that my Fieldmaster with 17” wheels (3digits VIN delivered 05/2023) has still the optimal configuration for me.

But a devil red Quartermaster….

I routinely enjoy very long road trips out west (couple thousand miles each way, and it doesnt get good til you’re west of the Mississippi) and i’m not looking forward to having to look for fuel every 200-250 miles or so.

That’s not good.

I’ve needed to get parts for mine after a low speed bump and, once the parts were identified, everything arrived within a week. Identifying parts was difficult for all parties involved though

Glad to see that Owl didn't get sole distribution on the LRA tank like they had suggested they would, always better when multiple shops can sell the same product; I'd assume something to the tune of >95% of the pre-orders were placed by pre-existing LRA dealers other than them. There are a handful of these already stateside and installed, with a bit of luck mine will be in the next shipment

Although I own a diesel which is good for another 100 miles compared with the petrol engine it’s the same for me (besides the fact that I don’t try to reach Mississippi regularly 😀)

You should give it a try and let us know how it goes - now THAT would be a real test of wading depth

Maybe my dealer is just crap? They could be blaming IA for their own failings..
