Sand is a different element than the rocks, ledges and hardpack I was dealing with in Moab. Tires don't have to endure as much uneven lateral force variation - the kind that pops beads - in sand.I recently did 5 hours driving on sand dunes on 14PSI (trialmaster station wagon with 4 adults). I started with 20PSI but had to air down after getting bogged in sand twice. At 14PSI I was comfortable doing 60-80kph and it didn’t get stuck again - and I aired back up when going faster on more solid ground without any bent or broken rims etc. I was on factory 18” alloys and 255 width tyres. I’m with Ronny Dahl now on tyre pressures - air down as much as you need and have fun.
