Not looking too good for Nissan lately. I mean, what vehicle do they actually manufacture that is desirable.
The outgoing Patrol - not on the hit list for anyone I know to acquire or even contemplate.
The new Y63 to come - non-diesel non-starter except for a few wanting a low-dose testosterone kick... good luck with MPG on that unit with its TT petrol.
Leaf? I have not seen many around.
Juke? - golly gosh.
Navara - yeah, they sell some but were lemons for so many years it tarnished the brand. Better, more reliable and cheaper options from competition.
Xtrail / Pathfinder - it is a loaded segment and anyone looking at these are buying HAVALs for $15K less base.

They are running at a loss in their big markets and there is nothing in the pipeline that will drag their sales figures up. Bring back the S200 and a proper Skyline and an actual new 4X4 that is comparable to the current 4X4 market.

Could you imagine “Nissan” pulling a pause in production? Yes I know totally different animal with numerous plants etc etc…..🙃🤔

Btw, I have owned several Nissans in my past (none in the current fleet), and never had any real issues with any of them. IMO well built and reliable. 🤷‍♂️

I can imagine any car manufacturer pausing production - it happens for a variety of reasons

The Qashqai (Rogue in the US) was a huge seller as it appealed to the mass market at a low entry cost. They haven't got anything else to bring them in good revenue.

I owned a 98 R33 back in the day - fantastic car. Nothing like it since from their lineup.

In OZ I do not see too many of the small variants. They are being outsold by the cheaper GWM/HAVALs.

The only thing selling in US, albeit much lower numbers is the Frontier. Being a arm chair critic, they should have released the Nissan warrior concept truck. Ppl kept asking for it but Nissan never listened.

I’m talking about pausing ALL production lines for every vehicle they make. Ineos only has the Grenadier/QM. That’s why I said “Yes I know totally different animal with numerous plants etc etc” (quoting myself well that’s a new one for me🤪). There have been tons of manufactures that pause productions of vehicles like the Camaro etc etc (I wrote about this in another thread). I was specifically saying what if a manufacturer the size of “Nissan” shut down all production on all vehicles. A total pause not just certain models/plants…..I personally can’t recall a large car manufacturer doing that. I did google it and only found certain plants or models for certain manufacturers paused in history, but none completely halted all production of all models in modern history/times (not talking about WW1 etc for war efforts etc). Not saying they will but if they did would be a huge deal. 🤷‍♂️

Nissan are cutting jobs, releasing shareholdings in other auto makers, Renault alliance is dead, and planning to pull production down to save costs. Not a single Nissan model features in any top 10 sales data so far in 2024. Ute no, car no, SUV no, EV no, hybrid no. It is a sobering thought to see how much these auto makers are struggling against the Chinese influx of cheap cars. After Nissan, who is next in line to start the tumble?

Comparing a small manufacturer with a single line producing 20-30k vehicles a year to an entire automotive company producing millions of vehicles a year is a bit silly.

Nissans problems have been going on for years - China may be the bail in the coffin, but their mismanagement is their own.

those guys ran Carlos Ghosn out of town and look where that took them.
Nissan used to have cool products but last couple of years hasn't been inspiring.

Did you even read my post that you quoted and replied to? There is a an upside down smiley face after that sentence. 🤷‍♂️ Some of you guys act like this forum is the “Bible” on anything people say. Lots of people like me are here for info, but to also say silly things and have fun. Heck I even preface the whole scenario with a “could you Imagine if”….sorry I didn’t realize this was the serious thread and you were the serious police. Now I know!! 👍

Ps wasn’t comparing was saying IF Nissan did a whole pause on everything it would be a huge deal & I still stick by that.

Engineering is garbage their cvt is also garbage they are truly a disposable car but not at a disposable price. Hell just make a 2wd small truck no frills with a manual trans and maybe a 4wd variant. NOPE won't do it

I had a couple of Navaras (aka Frontier) which were great. I did a couple of hundred thousand miles on each and apart from an egr valve on the V6 diesel no issues at all.
Those were the US designed versions, the later Thai models were not so well designed.
