Hi everyone,

Originally from South Africa, I’ve spent most of my time here in Australia. I’ve recently joined the Grenadier family and am looking forward to seeing where this vehicle can take me as I continue to explore more of this country.

I’m keen to learn from other members, pick up tips, and share experiences along the way. Whether it’s long-distance touring, some off-road adventures, or just finding those quiet places far from the crowds, the Grenadier feels like the perfect fit for the journey ahead.

Shortly after driving my new Grenadier away from the dealership, a red warning light appeared on the display stating "Brake Wear", despite only having driven a few kilometers. I turned around and took it back to the dealership, where they briefly inspected the issue. They mentioned it wasn’t life-threatening and assured me they’d follow up at the start of next week. However, I didn't hear back from them. Has anyone else experienced this issue, and if so, what was the outcome?

Looking forward to being part of this community.

Cheers.

I would check the right front (driver's front) brake pad wear sensor harness and brake line as they have been known to not be installed properly (and often this is missed whilst doing the pre-delivery inspection at the dealer). The failure is from rubbing on the inside sidewall of the tire.

Turning the steering wheel all the way to the right will give you a clear view into the area and you'll be able to see clearly if that is it or if there is something else going on

How long have you had the vehicle for? I would certainly follow up with them

Thanks for your suggestion. I took some photos of the right front brake pad area yet I'm having trouble uploading them here so I'll sort that out tomorrow and hope that you are able to point me in the right direction as I'm not exactly sure what I am looking for.

You would see a black cable, attached to a silver stainless steel braided brake line rubbing on the inside sidewall of the tyre; if there is more inspection needed than that, you have a different issue (perhaps a failed pad wear sensor)

9. Suggested fuses spares kit here.
10. Tools for your Grenadier here. So far, the most used toolkit on the Grenadier is the Wera WER05056490001 Tool-Check PLUS Bit Ratchet Kit (39 Pieces).

Following your suggestion of taking a closer look at the right side break pad wear sensor harness and brake line - this is what I'm looking at. Is it one of these lines that could be touching the tyre whilst the vehicle is moving?

The Brake Wear warning light appears after a few minutes of driving and it stays on for the remainder of the drive.

Vehicle is brand new and the Brake Wear waring light showed up shortly after driving away from the dealership for the first time. I've now had the vehicle for 1 week and I'm still awaiting to hear from the dealership when they can fit me in to have a look at it. Tying not to drive the vehicle too much in case there is some actual wear happening.

Nooo you have tons of room; the silver brake line in the upper right corner of your screen would be touching the tire roughly above "All-Terr" if it was rubbing, and be there almost continuously

Good to know that. Thanks for your input here. I hope to have the vehicle looked at soon by the dealer.
