INEOS Media Namibia Trails videos live

A thumb for the ones which made the photographs. (y)

I was at a conference in Germany a few years ago and there was a guy from South Africa there who was huge, funny as hell and very black.
We were all introducing ourselves and giving a bit of background of where we were from.
He introduced himself as being African.
A guy from the US of A corrected him and said "you mean African American"
He replied No. I am an African African.
Had to explain it to the guy from USA who thought the "correct polite" term for black people all over the world was African American.

In the support vehicle which has not been identified as yet...spies please
Take your pick all have been involved in the launch/photo trips in Africa:

In the official download brochure Sir Jim gives some information about a test drive through South Africa and Namibia.
I guess those videos have been part of this „expedition“. So the footage might be a little older.

We (my girlfriend at the time and I) listened to this from a cassette recorder up and down when we took a trip to Corsica in 1980 with my 2CV (16 hp). There was Fleetwood Mac, Mike Oldfield (Tubular Bells), Jethro Tull (This as a Brick, Songs From The Wood ...), Neil Young and others from that time.

You have awakened memories!

She took this photo of me sitting in the 2CV playing some Cat Stevens and Hannes Wader songs on my guitar. That was 42 years ago now, when I was 23.

The second picture was was/is her, preparing something to eat, like we always did.

What a carefree time ...

I would have loved a 2CV. I had a VW Beetle nd a Mini Cooper.
I also have Jethro Tull (Aqualung), Mike Oldfield, Neil Young & Cat Stevens on my current play list

And that was the unbelievable 16 HP car which I had bought for 250 DM (128 Euro).

This car had incredible off road capabilities. And with the front wheel drive, when you drove backwards, you could get up even the steepest trails.

But the technology was a disaster. It had the French version of the Prince Of Darkness and would have needed at least two Water Ingress Manuals. And forget about the brakes.

Come on back to the thread but great memories and images Thanks...happy motoring

Now I need to know what is the apparatus on the spare wheel of PT 2B 005...first impression a metal cooking plate...but no idea really?
