Due to the lack of a Homelink garage door opener, and not wanting to leave a clicker in the car, I’ve been using the myQ app built into my garage door opener. Has anyone gotten the myQ app to integrate into CarPlay? It would be nice to be able to do that while disabling the ADAS and other pre-flight checklist items.

Negative…I don’t think it’s CarPlay compatible…

I’m in same boat…

There are some other bridges out there that say they work with CarPlay but research says they are spotty.

You should be able to control your myQ opener from HomeKit. You might need to purchase the myQ HomeKit bridge from Chamberlain or Liftmaster though. Once added to HomeKit, the garage door opener will pop up on screen automatically as you get close to home. It works quite well, actually.

The Homelink bridge from Chamberlain was discontinued.

I installed another hardware agnostic brand, has worked perfectly, without issue since install about 9 months ago. Control pops up on CarPlay screen when nearing my neighborhood. Cool, seamless, and reports door open/closed status on CarPlay as well as iPhone or iPad. Link to previous thread discussing it:

Built in home link vs a clicker left in the car - isn’t the risk level equivalent? Someone smashes your window and can open your garage door?

2 options:

Or

I used Meross and it works fine and is less technical to install but switched to ratgdo in the last link for a more precise, integrated function.

I skim read a rather lengthy article with step by step instructions on how to get myq and carplay to work.

1. Does myQ work with Apple CarPlay?

Yes, myQ is compatible with Apple CarPlay. This integration allows you to control your compatible myQ-enabled garage door opener using the CarPlay interface on your iPhone or other compatible Apple device.

Wrapping Up

In conclusion, myQ does not currently work with Apple CarPlay.

Glad I skimmed the article. Author was probably paid by the word.

While I do have my door opener velcroed to below my safari windows carplay integration would be nice especially if myq popped up on the screen. I might try one of those solutions in this thread.

How did you get the MyQ app on to CarPlay? MyQ app is not available under settings to drag into the CarPlay app.

I didn't. I tried following the instructions on an article. After the first 3 paragraphs I just skimmed the rest and notice at the bottom of the article that it doesn't work. I'd hate to give the article more clicks but here it is.

Briefly, for those that chose not to follow the link that sill seem befuddled by this; Meross smart garage opener, works with any opener that has a button I think. Easy install, works with CarPlay on the grenadier. On Amazon, about $50

Usually, you need to turn the car on with a key to be able to have the garage door openers work. You can’t just break the window reach in and press the button. At least on most modern cars.

Hmm in the two cars we have with home link they all work without the ignition being on

I've been using Alexa app on my Pixel for now to open as I'm getting close. It's not Ideal but isn't hard to have setup either but you do need 4 digit pin before she opens the door via MQ.

I use Meross hardware... integrates with Apple Home / iPhone. You need a home hub (like Apple TV or apple speaker).

When I get close to the house the garage door button appears on the CarPlay screen. I can press/touch it or just tell Siri "open the garage door".

I actually have a separate MyQ app for the garage door but it is a hassle to manage the phone handset while driving home to open the door.

I found on eBay an old Chamberlain MyQ home bridge MYQ-G0303-SP.

Works perfectly with my home. Pops up on Apple CarPlay.
